The story you've just read contains some tough topics that for some is hard to read. It brings up death, depression, self-harm, kidnapping, and abuse. This story was not written to offend or glorify these topics. It was written to show that you can overcome it. However, you can't do it by yourself. You need help.

Some people may be too terrified to ask for help. Like Vanessa was. There is no weakness in asking for help. Instead, there is strength. If you or someone you love is struggling call the numbers below.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1(800)-273-8255

National Hope Line Network: 1(800)-442-4673

Crisis Text Line: Text CONNECT to 741741

Main Depression Hotline: (888)-667-6134

National Domestic Abuse Hotline: 1(800)-799-7233

Call '911' and pretend you are ordering a pizza. Police officers and law enforcement have been trained for this. They will ask you yes or no questions. At the end of the call ask how long the pizza will be and they will tell you how far away they are.

You aren't alone in this and you shouldn't have to be! If you ever need to talk or need advice or simply a person to talk too contact me through my instagram @epi.brooks. I'm always available.
