We walked through the busy streets of Trier, thinking about James's stupid move - well, it was either a stupid move over a well planned one, but we didn't know yet.
I kept wondering what would happen if he got caught, if he wasn't the spy already then they could force him to divulge the secrets even the spy couldn't.
The spy, it was so frustrating to refer to him or her like that. I wish I knew who it was.
The voice from my dreams kept bugging me, and for the first time in my life, I wanted a flashback. I wanted a way to connect to my past, I wanted to know more!
I felt that thinking of the past would help me, but I had to get out of here first. I couldn't just faint in the middle of Trier, right next to my already suspicious friends.
I focused on telepathising with Jace.
I need to get out of here, I want to get a flashback! I thought.
What do you mean by 'want' to get a flashback? He thought back.
I-I had a nightmare-
Andria! Flashbacks are for the past that you don't remember, doing something like that for an incidence roughly a few days ago could be dangerous! He scolded and warned at the same time.
I wanted to say it was last night, but realized that it would only make Jace more worried and besides, I had to listen to that dream again, I had to notice any clue I was missing. I needed to know if Jace was the spy.
That's when I realized that I hadn't stopped telepathising, which meant that Jace had heard everything.
I looked at him. He was nearly to tears, but tried not to show it. He looked at me, his eyes full of hurt at being accused as a spy and that too from all people, me. His warm caramel eyes suddenly became distant, as if unsure of what to say or do.
I desperately tried to explain myself, 'Jace, I didn't mean it that way! It's just... I need to confirm my suspicion about something. I-I would stand by your side no matter what. I know that you are not the spy-'
I didn't care if people heard me, I didn't want to lose him.
'Andria, it's okay... you have the right to suspect me' he said softly, though it sounded as if he was badly hurt. He turned away and walked straight to our hideout and went in, leaving me feeling horrible.
'How much further?' I asked Eava.
'It's just around here,' she replied, 'positive'
'Remind me why we are here again.' Lee groaned.
I felt my heart rate go faster as I remembered the conversation I had with Jace. We hadn't spoken since morning and I wanted to make things right. I even got close enough-then suddenly Eava had come rushing to us saying that she had received a message from James and lugged us along to Los Angeles. I mean, seriously, someone has a Ianuae-ing capacity!
I had asked her why we couldn't directly Ianuae inside the flat but she kept mumbling about 'proper introduction' and 'invasion of privacy'. I was getting tired of not getting answers, so I dropped it.
'James wanted the three of us to go to his hometown for god knows what reason. He said that he had given Olivia and Jace another job to do.' Eava replied.
I nodded towards Eava, 'How did he contact you?'
'Telepathy' she answered.
I wanted to smack myself, what a stupid question!
Lee seemed to think the same thing because the moment Eava went ahead he walked past me saying, 'Well done, you are officially my apprentice : Andria the Idiot'
