Hey everybody! Sara here! :)
I just want to say, this is a little bit based off of The Walking Dead. (My favorite TV SHOW!)
I do not own any of the characters, so I give all the credit to whoever created the show. Thanks!!
Make sure to vote, comment, and share Cabin 4, Dirty Secrets and Dead Roses, and last but not least This is The End!

The clock read 9:03 a.m. I had 87% left on my phone. We had 3 bars of gas left.
The sun was bright, like it would've been a great day to go swimming. I smiled and looked out the window. There were no "things" in sight.
"We could set up camp here, you know. We could stay here until this is over." I suggested.
He shook his head. "Not enough materials, Ellie."
Wyatt and I exchanged looks and sighed.
I still stared out the window, the bright sun blinding my eyes. "Well, then where are we going?" I asked, a bit agitated.
"We are almost near Hart City. I heard there is a safe sanctuary there." He said happily.
I nodded and looked back outside the window. The deserted mountains were slowly becoming a city.
"We need to find gasoline." My dad said.
I nodded. "And fast." I added. I stared out the window and saw a sign that said:
WELCOME TO HART CITY
Suddenly, my dad slammed the breaks.
I almost had a heart attack. "What is it!!" I yelled.
Wyatt pointed in front of us in fear.
We were heading towards Hart City originally, but now it was taken over by hoards of zombies.
"W-We should get out of here..." I said as 6 zombies headed towards us.
But instead, my dad drove through the deserted city.
"What the heck are you doing dad??!! You are gonna kill us!!" I screamed.
He turned around-- while driving--and harshly replied, "Shut up Ellie!! We are fine!"
He still stared at me in anger until he started to turn around, but there was a line of cars the way.
"Dad! Watch the road!!!" I yelled. But it didn't help.
As our minivan headed towards our doom, I decided there was only one thing left to do, since my dad wasn't taking action.
I grabbed the steering wheel, and turned it ferociously to the right.
I braced myself for the impact as our car smashed into the line of vehicles.
But we survived.
Dad's airbag punched him in the face, and my vision became blurrier as I finally blacked out.
* * *
"E-Ellie..." Wyatt whispered.
I blinked my eyes multiple times until my vision became clear.
Finally, I could see him. I nodded and said, "Where is Dad?"
He looked down, as if to say, He is gone.
"He...uh...kind of left us alone here. To survive. On our own..." Wyatt replied with a short and quick tear.
"O-Oh...." That was all I could say. I was speechless. How could he leave us alone?!
Anger filled my gut and gave me the will to move on. "Let's go." I said.
We checked our trunk, and all that was left was 6 water bottles, several cans and bags of food, 2 pistols, 2 rifles, and 3 knives.
I took out my clothes from my backpack and put in the materials.
We checked all the other cars, but all we could find were unneeded things, like lollipops and candy. But we did find a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.
Wyatt and I sneaked around the city, hoping the zombies wouldn't find us.
Just as we were about to leave the city, a gun was pointed behind my head.
"Turn around." A man's voice said.
I slowly turned my body, and Wyatt did the same.
I was expecting to see dad, but all I saw was a kind-looking, unfamiliar man.
I sighed and looked to the ground. "So you are gonna kill us, right?" I said.
The man laughed and lowered the gun. "Why would I kill an innocent young girl who has been surviving alone this whole time?"
Wyatt shrugged and I smiled. Good, I thought. I felt relieved.
"Okay everyone, it's okay to come out now!" The man said.
A group of people crawled out through the bushes. "My name is Mike. Welcome to our group!" The man--now named Mike-- said.
I smiled as other people greeted us and told us their names.
I didn't really listen until a boy who looked about 15 or so came up to me and said, "I'm Jake. Welcome to our group."
I smiled and said, "Thank you. I'm Elizabeth, but I go by Ellie."
"Okay then, hi Ellie." He replied with a smirk.
I smiled to myself.
I walked with the group, and after 20 minutes I asked Mike, "So, are you guys the sanctuary people have been talking about?"
He laughed. "We are no sanctuary. But we are headed towards the sanctuary you are talking about." He said with a smile.
I laughed and said, "I have some food, water, and materials. If you want some?"
Mike nodded and said, "Maybe later I will take it. But for now, you carry it. We just created this group, so everyone is new to each other. You're not the only one."
I nodded and walked back to Wyatt. He was blushing like crazy. I laughed at this sight.
"Did you meet a cute girl?" I asked playfully.
He nodded nervously. "H-Her name is Abby." He said while pointing towards a girl. She turned around, looked at him, and waved to us.
I waved back but Wyatt blushed even more than humanly possible.
I walked towards Abby and said, "Hi, I am Ellie. My brother has a crush on you." I smiled.
She was blushing too.
Suddenly, people started getting excited. "There it is!!!" Someone shouted.
Mike told everyone to calm down and said, "It's the sign for the sanctuary. Everyone, move out!!"
I looked at the sign. It said:
TERMINUS
SANCTUARY FOR ALL ,
COMMUNITY FOR ALL
----------->
COME TO TERMINUS
We headed on towards the direction the arrow said to go.
I smiled to myself. I had found a new group.
