You Came Back - Kit and Ty

[sorry this part took too long, I started school again and ahh stress! But I'm trying to update more frequently, also OVER ONE HUNDRED READS?! Thank you guys so much! When I first wrote this I didn't think anyone would read it so thank you! Also how fast do you guys want kit and Ty's relationship to be, should I speed it up or slow it down? ]

Kit was still frozen in Ty's embrace, his heart was beating ridiculously fast but he tried to relax, after all being held by Ty wasn't bad at all. After a few seconds Ty broke the contact and Kit sighed with relief that he no longer had to think about his feelings for Ty and disappointment that the moment had ended so soon. In moments like these he felt the thoughts of annoyance towards himself creeping into his head. Why did he have to feel like this towards Ty? He ran his hands through his hair before looking up and seeing Ty's beautiful silver eyes staring at him intently, as soon as they made eye contact Ty turned away a small blush creeping across his cheeks, Kit dismissed the other boys peculiar expression as him being nervous about the mission, Kit knew that Ty was a skilled fighter however he preferred to avoid conflict if possible.

Ty's heart was beating rapidly, he wasn't sure why, he didn't feel particularly nervous about the upcoming mission, they were just investigating demon activity, a fairly normal activity for Shadowhunters, nothing that Kit and himself couldn't handle. For some reason though he felt as though his heart was going to beat out of his chest. When he had heard the amount of sadness in Kit's voice he couldn't help but try and comfort him and Ty was surprised by how comfortable he was with Kit in his arms, he normally didn't like physical contact but this he didn't mind, he maybe even enjoyed it.

After Ty had pulled away from the embrace the room settled back into an uneasy silence. Ty wanted desperately to talk to Kit but ever since Magnus and Alec's wedding it felt like there was a tension between them that he just couldn't work out. He sighed, collecting a few more weapons before he was interrupted by a sharp knock on the door, Ty already knew it was Jules, he unlocked the door and let him inside. He noticed Julian raise his eyebrow at the awkwardness and responded with a half-hearted shrug.

"I'll drive you to the point with Magnus and Emma, once we've dropped you off Magnus will portal me and Emma to the first destination for our travel year before portalling himself back home," Julian paused shaking his head before continuing with the plan "Then you'll investigate the suspicious activity, sleep in the car and in the morning you'll drive back." He explained grimacing. Almost as soon as the last word left Julian's mouth Ty's mind was working through the plan, trying to think of everything that could go wrong or deter them in any way. "Neither me or Kit know how to drive," Ty said, his voice slightly too loud, as soon as he realised the fault in the plan. Julian's grimace seemed to intensify as he ran his hands through his hair. "I know," was all he said and the next few seconds were filled with an awkward silence, Ty took a quick glance at Kit to gage his reaction but his face was blank and almost uninterested, if he had not opened his mouth and begun to speak Ty would've assumed he missed the conversation all together.

"I can drive," was all Kit said. Ty turned to him his brows furrowed, anyone watching him could almost see his brain trying to work out how this was possible, after all it was illegal for mundanes to drive or even learn to drive under the age of sixteen. Julian looked equally puzzled and slightly doubtful. Kit, noticing their expressions began to explain. "I know it's illegal but my father was never the most-" he paused as if unsure of the word to describe his father "conventional parent, he would often teach me things he considered valuable skills before I should have been doing them. In fact teaching me to drive was one of the last things he did before um-" Kit trailed off, a distant look in his eye. Ty understood why, he knew what the end to that sentence would be 'before his father was killed by mantid demons',he didn't blame Kit for not wanting to say that out loud.

After a few moments of silence Julian reluctantly agreed to let Kit drive them back and left the room to find Emma and Magnus.
As soon as his brother had left Ty shifted in his feet slightly so he was nearer to Kit and opened his mouth to speak, Kit appeared so distant, it was almost as if his body was present but his mind was somewhere miles and miles away that Ty couldn't reach. He sighed and left the room, he wasn't good with boundaries and he didn't want to accidentally cross any like he nearly had the other night, Ty wasn't normally an impulsive person, usually he would think everything through, weighing up all the possible outcomes before he did anything but when he was with Kit he sometimes found himself willing to make rash decisions and that was something that worried him. What happens if he did something that wounded his and Kit's relationship so much that it was irreparable?

[ I hope you guys liked this, again I'm really sorry about the wait but school started again! I'm not the most pleased with this chapter but I can already tell I'm going to enjoy writing the next one ;) ]
