"Esmarelda is that little girl. And you are traveling threw her sisters memories it seems." He growls. He looks away huffing and puffing. Heaving with anger. But the next thing I know he has his hands around my neck pushing me against the wall and he's hissing at me. He wasnt hurting me, just threatening n to it seems. "I had reason to believe your sack of shit story. That you lost your memory. But," he growls and squeezes. "The fact that you have her mark and her some of her memory proves-" he growls.
I squeezed his hand and try to pull it away. My collar digging into my neck. "Desmond please…" I beg tears streaming down my face. "I didn't…" he squeezed harder and I cry out.
"I could feel your fear." He huffs. "I could feel your confusion and you heart pick up. I had reason to believe you didn't work with those fucking hunters. But now… you are worse, worse then them."
Shaking my head, i moan. "No...i didn't."
"I can't use my control on you. I can't get in information out of you. I can't hurt you. And outs because you drained her you filthy-"
"Desmond please… I didn't do it!" I yell and squeeze his hand. "I was just a little girl Desmond." I cough, begging for air.
"How did you know about her huh? I was the only one that knew about her outside the family. Who was your informant."
"If…" I say, "if I did it...and had an informant…. And killed this little girl, why would I tell you this…" His growls stop and his grip loosen up. "Why would I tell you this, and give myself away."
Desmonds anger continued, but his aggression calmed down. He glared me down for a long while. Keeping me off the ground and giving me just enough room to breath.
"I want to know-" he says. "I want to know everything you have seen and all future travels from here on out."
I quickly nod. He releases me and I fall to my knees, and hold myself.
I spend lord knows how long in this room telling him detail after detail.
He seemed to calm down a lot and seem to really calm down when I told him about 'save Emmie'.
We both agreed that Emmie was Esmeralda. And that Lia's memory will eventually lead us to what happened that night. Desmond had decided to leave me in Haleys hands, to see if we can get it to start with out my life being on the line.
Desmond also told me to keep what I see between us.
He didn't want my knowledge of this little girl to my life on the line more than it already is. And didn't want Haley to kill me before my court date.
And she seemed overly enthusiastic about it. Something about me being interesting little human snack.
Desmond made it very clear he did not want to find fang marks on me. And of course she got really sad but understood.
And this is the first time I've been outside in…. Forever. The air is crisp and the stars and beautiful.
Desmonds garden is absolutely stunning. And it probably looks better in the sun. All the colors, the glow of the fountain.
"Human." Haley calls and I snap my gaze toward her, looking away from the stars.
She stood in front of me in her normal scandalous attire. And Stephan behind her watching from the bench a couple feet away. He was half paying attention, leaning back his arms crossed his chest he looked off in the forest.
“Hello, don’t make me say it again.” Haley hissed. I looked back at her and she tsked me. “Pay attention, this is important! If you travel again you might not come back!”
