Chapter 11

I'm finally in Rome and I booked into the 5 star hotel that my friend recommend. Once I got into my room, I placed my bags down and sat at the edge of the bed and looked out the window, across the city I was in, cars drove by and people walked up and down the street. I sighed in satisfaction and lowered myself on the bed. I sinked into the soft and fluffy comfortable bed, it felt like I was on a cloud then John popped into my head and my hand flew into my pocket as I pulled my phone out. On my screen, a picture of my mom showed. She stood healthy and energetic, her smile that made me happy, she had her arms around my shoulders as she smiled in the picture and I immediately missed her presence and joy.

"I miss you mom" I said to the picture as I gently traced my finger around her face. I know, I should be sad and cry about it but she wouldn't want me to be sad, she'd want me to move on and enjoy my life. It was hard when she died but things got better that's when I reconnected with a old friend, John. Actually he was my boyfriend before he left.

I smiled remembering the crazy times with my mom and unlocked my phone. I took a moment to calm down as I called John's number but he didn't pick up, he must be busy. But he is always busy, what is he busy with? I sighed and placed my phone down as I look up to the glass ceiling, seeing my reflection. After sometime I got off the bed and began unpacking my clothes, occasionally I would look at my phone to see if there was any new messages but nothing new, unfortunately. As I took out my clothes I saw my necklace, a necklace John gave me. I smiled as I glide my fingers over the smooth surface on the white diamond.
