ETHAN

Is it bad to say hangovers don't exist for me anymore? That's where I'm at in my life. Julie left early this morning, mediocre sex at best, but it sufficed.

I don't typically work on the weekends, unless it is needed or I get called in. Today is just another Saturday, nothing that needs my attention has happened too recently in LA.

I eat my eggs in peace, then I hear a knock at my door.

I open to see Grayson, he looks tired, "Hey man, what are you doing?"

"I just left Emma's, I crashed there last night. I need to talk to you though," Grayson said seriously.

I open the door all the way for him to come, "When are you going to convince Emma to not hate me?"

He replies, "That's between you two, she tolerates me." Then he goes to fix a plate of left over toast and eggs, "So I'm breaking it off with Charlotte. To make it short, things are different between us, one-sided. She obviously wants something else right now. I'm going to do it tomorrow night, since she's busy."

I didn't know what to say, I missed him, but I know how much he loves her, "I'm sorry, man. I know you love her, but you don't deserve to be treated like you don't matter."

He nods, then I remember. Charlotte, the bar, the flirting with the men and not a trace of Grayson seemed apparent in her mind.

I was scared to tell him, I mean he's going to break up with her already, maybe there wasn't a point in telling him. But I had to.

"I have to tell you something, I saw at the bar last night," I abruptly say.

"First, you go to the bar way too much and second is it about some hot girl you saw and then took her away in your arms, then fucked?"

He is definitely trying to be comedic to make himself feel better, which makes me feel like shot for what's about to come out of my mouth, "Gray... last night I saw Char. She was with a few friends and being heavily flirty with some dudes. I'm not saying she's having an affair with someone but...."

He doesn't look surprised, "I mean it kind of adds on to everything I've been saying. It hurts she's probably been flirty with lots of guys, but at this point that just gives me more reason to end it."

"You don't deserve it. I know she loves you," I say trying to comfort him, because even though he's trying to not seem sad, he can't hide it from me.

"Yeah she loves me, but in the way I want her to."

There was some silence as he eats his food, "I've missed having you around Gray."

He puts his fork down, "I've missed you too, you'll be seeing a lot more of me."

He gives me a smile, when I know he's trying his best to hide his pain.
