"So... that's all the information we got. We didn't want to bombard her the first time we meet," I wrap up presenting the information from the meeting with Mrs. Davis to the Sergeant.
Sergeant Williams responds, "Seems like you guys got enough for now until we know cause of death. Do a background check on her and make sure everything is clear. You two will interview friends and colleagues in a few days."
Ethan and I nod at him and head to our offices.
"I will run a background check on her, you start making a list of people he worked with," I say to Ethan as I walk into my office.
"Will do, partner."
I scoff, "Don't call me that."
"Okay partner, let me know if you need anything," Ethan annoyingly says and I shut the door to my office.

The end of the day was nearing, and Mrs. Davis' background check came back clean, no issues at any point; I will still need to keep an eye on her
A knock on my startles me, and Ethan appears.
"So our doctor worked in the ER, probably didn't befriend many of his coworkers, but here's a list of all the doctors and nurses at the hospital."I look up at him, "Wow, I'm so proud of you."
"Hey, I may be annoying but I can do my job, alright?"
"Okay, okay," I say.
"To kick off this case right, do you want to hit the bar tonight, have a couple drinks?"
I sigh, "Ethan, it's a Monday and I have a bed and fiancé to go home to."
He looks down at his feet, "Okay Chamberlain, suit yourself." He leaves, leaving the door cracked behind him...he knew exactly what to do to get on my nerves.
I sit at my desk and stare at the list he gave me, I didn't see any familiar names. If it wasn't his wife, I have a feeling this is going to be a difficult case.
My phone buzzes with a new message:
Leo: Hey babe, I'm gonna be late tonight, just save me a plate. Movie night soon?
This hurt, but I reply making sure I hide any kind of hurt.
Me: Okay I will. Movie night soon,
love you :)I sent the message, and I decided I wasn't going to spend my night alone.
I lock up my office and go to Ethan's office, stand at the door way, huff out a deep breath and with hesitation ask, "Still want to go and get those drinks?"
He gives me a smirk, "I knew you would come around."
