EMMA
The weekend went by fast, it was already time to face more reality.
Grayson called me yesterday even to let me know he ended it, Charlotte took it pretty well and agreed it was for the best. He told me about what Ethan told me, and it upset me, I wish she would've said something sooner to him.
I sit at my desk and take a deep breath. I had just solved a robbery case last week, but that's the most exciting things have gotten for me.
Sergeant Williams barges into my office, "Detective Emma, a body was found."
I stand up, "Do we know the name of the victim?"
"It was a very popular doctor in the area."
I walk out of my office, and see the TV playing the news.
"Dr. Christopher Davis, 31, was found dead about 30 minutes ago in an alley way beside an apartment complex, by a pedestrian going to work. We are unsure the cause of death, but it seems to be a murder. We have no more information at this time."
I look over to Ethan's office door and see it already open, he is looking it me, just as eager as me to be on this case.
-
"Detective Chamberlain and Detective Dolan, come with me to my office."
We glare at each other and follow the Sergeant to his large office.
"I need you on this case. We don't know much now but I want you two on it."
"Sir", I say looking over at Ethan, "Are you sure? I think I could handle it by myself."
"You two are two of our best, and as much of each of you like to be on your own, we need you together. Have you ever thought how powerful you two could be?"
Ethan and I both burst out into laughter, Sergeant Williams doesn't crack a smile, "What's funny?"
We both settle out laughter down, Ethan looks up at him, "When do we start?"
I look over at him "What?" I had to work with Ethan Dolan on a case, could this get any worse?
