Todoroki POV

-Friday-

Todoroki sat at the back of the class, not paying attention to Mr. Aizawa. He couldn't pay attention, his mind was full of Midoryia. Izuku's gorgeous eyes, soft unkempt hair and freckled cheeks.

"This is it, it has to be today." He thought to himself. He remembered the small promise he had made to himself late at night, a week ago. He promised himself that he would come out to Midoryia before Saturday. Todoroki couldn't stop his knee from bouncing, and his palms were sweaty. He had no idea how to go about this.

Shoto decided that he would have to get Midoryia on his own if he wanted to do this privately, either go up to one of their dorms or go for a walk before curfew. The walk seemed like a better plan because the outside air might calm Todoroki down if he I'm not to nervous. It would also be less likely for someone to interrupt them.

Time seemed to stop for Todoroki as he spaced out and began imagining scenarios for tonight in his mind. Everything from Midoryia sharing his feelings, to Todoroki being left alone in the night passed through his head. Before he knew what happened, he was snapped out of his little dimension by everyone moving out of the room. I must be lunch...

"Todo! Come on!" Midoryia half yelled in the now empty room, causing Todoroki to jump in his seat. It had become a small tradition for the two to walk to the cafeteria together every day over the past few weeks. Shoto smiled slightly at the thought of something only they shared, like the study sessions they had every few days, or cooking while dancing to Izuku's music.

"I'm coming, don't worry." Todoroki finally said while manoeuvring out of his chair. Deku stood by the door with a bright smile. The pair took off towards the canteen with only the sound of their footsteps as company. They only looked at each other once, as they passed an intersection of corridors. Todoroki took note of how Midoryia had to look up at him slightly when they walked side by side. He tried to hide a small smile.

"Add it to the list." He thought to himself as they entered the cafeteria and got their lunch. The pair sat with Uraraka, Iida and Tsu at a table near the centre. Uraraka was holding hands with Tsu, and Todoroki noticed her shoot Deku a quick smile before returning to her conversation. Shoto turned and saw Midoryia trying to hide a light blush that spread across his face. Todoroki wondered what was happening between the two.

He brushed the thought out of his mind, he had more important things to think about today. He decided to stop worrying for the duration of lunch, and enjoy the company of his friends. The best friends he ever had. The only true friends he had ever had.  Shoto looked around the table, all the smiling and laughing. He couldn't help but smile aswell. Todoroki even teased Iida a little which no one expected, so it just made it funnier. Even Iida laughed.

As they all walked back to class together, Todoroki's cheeks were tired from an unusual amount of smiling, but he felt good. It was a strange feeling, like he felt lighter on his feet. He looked to his left, and down slightly, to Midoryia. He was beaming up at him, he had a look in his eyes that Shoto had seen a few times before. Pride.

"What are you so happy about?" Shoto asked. He had subconsciously activated his quirk as he always did when talking to Midoryia.

"I'm just really glad you are coming out of your shell a little bit! It was nice seeing you smile so much." Deku said the last part while not meeting Shoto's eyes. They walked in silence for a few moments, but Todoroki grabbed Deku's arm before they entered the class. Midoryia stopped in his tracks and turned to face the bi-coloured boy.

"Thank you Mido... truly. I wouldn't be where I am today if you hadn't thought to try and help me at the sports festival." Todoroki still had a hold of Midoryia's arm, just above the wrist. Deku began to scratch the back of his neck like he always did, and soft smile tugged at his lips. His lips....
