Updates on Wednesdays
"Lex and I have been friends ever since we were little kids running through the wide halls of Hill House. She's changed a lot over the years but she's still my Lex."
-Elizabeth Yoon
I was minding my own business up in my study when I heard a crash and screaming coming from the main sitting area in Hill House.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I heard Gio yell. I rounded the corner so u could see what was happening. Gio was standing in the main sitting area with a gun pulled on Tom, who looked exactly like a deer in headlights, his phone lay upside down on the lush carpet like he jumped up quickly. "Lex, what the hell is he doing here?" He spat at Tom's name.
"Put the fun away, Gio," I demanded. He looked at me like I had thirty heads. "Put it down, or I'll do it for you." I threatened
"What the hell is he doing here?" Gio asked with a calmer tone to his voice.
"I needed-" Tom started.
"No. You shut up." Gio cut in. Toms eyebrows raised at this but complied turning his eyes to me.
"He needed a place to crash, and I said he could stay here until some of the heat is off." Gio looked at me like I had thirty heads once again.
"You're fucking kidding me! Lex, do you know who the fuck this is?" Gio gestured to Tom.
I rolled my eyes. "I know exactly who he is. Drop it Gio I got it handled." My tone tipped to cold, sending the message to Gio to shut up before I shut him up myself.
"You're the boss Lex, but let me say this, I don't like him, I don't like the idea of him staying here," Gio said before walking to the stairs and heading to his office.
I sighed, happy that I came down before the situation escalated.
"Um, Miss. Hill, there is a call for you on your private line." Cynthia popped her head out of the kitchen.
"Thank you, tell them I will be right there," I responded with a fake smile.
I turned to Tom, who was still standing somewhat defensively. "I'm sorry about him. He usually jumps to pulling guns on people a little too fast."
Tom looked to the ground and ran a hand through his hair, "Nah, it's all good, I used to be the same way." He flicked his eyes to mine, and I could swear that a smile flicked across his lips. "I'll be out of here by the morning."
"There are still multiple bounties out on your head, you should stay." The words that came out of my mouth surprised me, but it was too late to take them back.
"You sure? I wouldn't want to impose."
No, "Yeah, you can stay as long as you need." Alexandra Katherine Hill, you are absolutely going to regret this in the future, you dumb bitch.
"Miss. Hill, the caller is still waiting on your private line." Cynthia spoke as she walked halfway down the front staircase.
"I should probably go get that." I smiled, pointing to the stairs.
"Yeah, you probably should." He said as he bent over to scoop up his phone.
Tom sat back on the white couch as I walked into the kitchen and up the private staircase that leads to my part of Hill House.
"Hey Elizabeth, what's up?"
"Holy shit, Lex, you'll never guess who I ran into here," Elizabeth spoke excitedly through the phone as I sat at my desk.
