"it's funny, Alexandra, how in our business the dead never stay dead."

-Dominick Holland

"He was first spotted in Australia where he was gathering some muscle, then Russia, where he managed to get his hands on some weapons, and apparently he locked down a supplier that we really can't get our hands on."

For the last four hours, we all downed caffeine and slumped over computers and phones trying to get as much information on William as possible, and Leo was none the wiser. Tom insisted on helping, even though I said he could go back to sleep, it was four am, and the circles beneath his eyes were the color of a day-old black eye.

I excused myself from the crucial search for William for a moment and stepped into the hall. I heard the lock on the door at the end of the hall beep, and Leo walked towards me.

"How the fuck do you know that password?" I asked, approaching his swiftly.

"You told me? Don't you remember." He said with a slick smile spread across his lips.

"I never told you that code. Get the fuck out of here." I walked closer to him, trying to get him as far away from my office as possible.

"Well, you told Tom who literally is the son of your rival, so I don't think you have your head on straight."

"My head is perfect, and believe it or not, tom has given me more reason to trust him than you ever have, so leave."

"Having your mother's death date isn't very creative, by the way. What's going on in there?" Leo asked as he walked past me towards my office.

"Nothing that concerns you. I think it'd be best if you left now."

"Lex, let me help you with whatever you're trying to do."

"I GOT HIM!" Gio shouted from the other side of the door. "Someone go find Lex."

The door opened, and a familiar brown mop of curly hair popped out. "Lex-oh hey Leo," Tom said as he painted a fake smile over his lips, "Lex when you're done with this," he gestured to Leo and me "We could use you back in here." Tom slowly closed the door as he pulled his body back into the room.

"So, you tell him what's going on but not me, huh?" Leo laughed as he ran a hand through his hair.

"We literally talked about this not even three minutes ago. I trust him, not you." Then I had an idea, one that would hopefully rid me of his presence forever. "You have until sunset to pack all your stuff up and get out of my sight."

"Or what?"

"I'll kill you."

"Hah, like you would actually be able to pull the trigger." Leo laughed, clearly not intimated at all by my threats.

"She would pull the trigger jackass, and I would too." Tom had managed to slip out into the hallway without Leo or I noticing. His right hand rested around the grip of his gun. "Get the fuck out of here before I pull the trigger here and now." His voice deepened as the muscles in his arm flexed a little.

Leo threw his hands up and walked away. I watched him until I was sure he was on the other side of the locking door.

"That was a bit aggressive, huh? I had it handled." I said as we walked back into the room.

"He's a spy for William," Tom stated.

"What?" The thought of someone who I once loved working for the enemy nearly knocked the wind from my lungs.
