Remember when we were little kids and we thought that the joke 'why is six afraid of seven? Because seven eight nine,' was funny? I find it funny now because I am seven and nine is anyone who gets in my way."
-Lex Hill
TW: Suicide
Seven days have passed since Leo showed up at my doorstep. I now know seven new things.
He must really have someone after him because even with Damon's attempts to force him out of Hill House he has stayed. There really was a war in ItalyI have figured out a way to repair my bubble and keep it in functioning shape. He got insanely ripped since he disappeared years ago. (that really should not make my list, but oops.)I really don't like Leo anymore, he gives me a funny feelingPainting is relaxing, and I really should do it more often. No matter how hard I try, Leo keeps popping into my head, and I hate it.
Now, I know that you must be wondering why I have this list of seven little things, I am too.
The room spun around me, the walls moving so fast they blended into one as my hair whipped in the air. My cheeks hurt from smiling as my eyes flitted to objects that floated in space.
"Lex, what the hell is going on?" Tom asked sending everything that was floating crashing to the floor and the walls to stop so suddenly the paintings slammed against the drywall.
Oh yeah, and he's kinda like a thing now. I guess we're kinda friends of something, he's really funny and really pretty too. He doesn't like Leo, I don't like Leo either.
"Nothing." I slurred trying to decipher whether he had three heads or one. "You look funny, Tommy." I giggled as my eyes sluggishly swept over his face.
"Lex this isn't fucking funny- what the hell is this?" He said spotting the credit card and white lines of powder lying on my desk.
"Did you know I have a list of seven things?" I asked, not answering his question as I tipped my head to the side to get a different angle of his face. It looked like I was looking at the world through a kaleidoscope. I liked it that way.
"Lex, this isn't fucking funny, you have responsibilities, you have Leo here," Tom said as he swept the power off my desk. It momentarily turned into a cloud before falling to the rug.
"Hey, hey, hey don't do that," I said my hands swiping the air where his hands were a few seconds ago. I was too late.
"You gotta get it the fuck together. I'm not kidding." Tom said, grabbing me by the shoulders and sitting my upright in the chair.
"Why be sober and feel things when I can be happy and numb at the same time?" I questioned as my head lolled from side to side.
Tom lifted me off the desk chair and proceeded to carry me towards my room. He is mad at me, I can tell. He was mad, just like my father used to be when I made 'crazy and damaging allegations' against his best friend.
"Sleep this- whatever this is-" He said motioning to my body that was practically a lump on the bed, "-off, then I'll tell you about the info I got on my father's idea to buy a pub in the neutral part of town."
Tom grabbed the covers and pulled them over my body before waking out and shutting the door tightly behind himself. I laughed as I stared at the ceiling, I saw Damon and Leo and Tom and Cynthia and my mom and Suz floating around playing volleyball. They looked like the people from those Airhead commercials.
I squeezed my eyes shut, really tight, and opened them again. Tom was still there playing on the same team as my mom and Suz, smiling. I laughed and looked at him a little more; his smile had gone from a natural, happy smile to sinister to one that stretched from ear to ear his cheeks missing leaving bloody molars exposed to the world. The eyes that I thought were brown turned black like someone had poured tar into them. Soon chunks of his flesh were missing exposing bone as he laughed creeping closer to my mother as her flesh also started peeling off. A scream erupted from my lips.
