Accidental Attractions

Chapter one

I wake to the sound of birds chirping outside of my window as my cat jumps up and rests on my lap. It's 5:30 and I have to be at work by 6:30 so I swing myself out of bed in one fell swoop. I stumble my way to the bathroom and wash my face. I glance at myself in the mirror and wince. My face is slightly bruised along with a small cut tracing my cheekbone, after an attempt at apprehending an Unsub went sour. 

I make my way to my car as I shove a pop tart in my mouth while trying to balance my coffee cup, keys, and case files in my hands. I arrive at  the office two minutes early which is saying a lot since I'm usually at least twenty minutes early. Still lugging around my junk I make it to my desk and drop it all at once. The noise startled me although I caused it.

I get settled and begin my paperwork when a certain blonde approaches me. "Hey em, how was your weekend?!" Jj said in an excited voice. "It was fine ho- how bout you?" I said while stifling a laugh in reaction to her peppy mood. "It was great! I had a blast, Garcia and I went to the spa and got massages and stuff. It as soo relaxing; I wish you could have been there." She said with a less happy tone on the last few words. "Ya I would've loved to have spent the weekend with you guys but we all no I'm not a girly girl who enjoys massages."

What I said was true, I really did wish I could spend the weekend with them. I just wasn't feeling up for it especially considering what happened in the case we closed not four days ago.

"Ya well maybe you can make up for it. We could have movie night at my place, say, six?" She said with a pleading grin. "Uh, ya, ok sounds like a plan. I'll go ask PG if she wants to join us." "Oh actually Garcia can't come, she is visiting with her stepbrothers at the moment
While they are in town."

If I'm being 100% honest with myself, I was kinda relieved that Penelope couldn't make it. Not because I don't want to hang with her, but because spending a little one on one time with JJ wouldn't be so bad. She is my best friend and for the past couple of months we have been pretty busy so the only time we ever hang out is in a group with the rest of the team.

"Oh I almost forgot to ask. Do you want to watch the Wizard of Oz or Finding Nemo?" The younger agent asked with a smile seeing as those are her two favorite movies. "Let's just watch both how about." The conversation ended with the both of us in happy moods which ended up distracting me from the gruesome paperwork I had to fill out today.
