"Hey Em." I turn away from the loads of paperwork sitting on my desk to find Reid approaching me, a smile sprawled across his face. "Hey genius, what's up?" I ask, excited to have a distraction from my workload.
"Oh I was just wondering what I should wear to the rehearsal dinner tonight. I was thinking a a sweater vest and maybe a bow tie. You know, shake it up a bit." I chuckle softly at the thought of him in a, no doubt, colorful bow tie. "Sure Spence, that sounds great." I say endearingly, trying to make sure he feels comfortable wearing whatever goofy accessories he wants to. His bright mismatch socks are always fun.
"Okay great, I'm looking forward to it. I'll see you both later tonight." He says. I turn to see JJ approaching my desk. Wearing her signature v neck too and skinny black jeans, looking as gorgeous as ever.
"Hey beautiful, I didn't hear you come over here." I lean in for a small kiss, we are still at work after all. "I'm so excited for tonight and tomorrow." She smiles. Her smile makes me so happy and in love. My hands are balled up in my lap to resist my urge to bite my nails. A nervous habit that has been more prominent in the days leading up to this weekend. Jj notices my hands and reaches out to hold them and comfort me. "Hey. It's going to be perfect and wonderful. All the people who really know and love us are going to be there. Don't go getting cold feet on me now." She says comically. I love it when she tries to calm me down. And damn does it work because I am already starting to feel better.
"I love you so much." I tell her. I'll tell her everyday for the rest of my life to make sure she knows it. I love her so much that it's hurts sometimes. But not today, and not tomorrow. Right now I live her like there is no tomorrow and that every bad thing to have ever happened is erased because she makes me feel safe and loved and happy.
JJ's eyes dart all around my face. "I love you too. Okay well I'll let you get back to work because you need to finish so we can take next week off for our honeymoon." She says, trailing off and leading into another short and sweet peck on the cheek. "Nooo, don't leave me." I say sarcastically as she begins for her own desk full of paperwork, our hands still intertwined but slowly slipping away. That sounds dramatic but I just really don't want to do paperwork.

"Aaaand... time to go home! Finally." I say, excited that the workday has finally ceased. "Wow that felt like a whole week, Jesus Christ." I sigh. I pack up my things and organize my desk a little, grabbing something papers that still need to be finished at home.
I scramble to meet JJ at her desk and walk back to our car. I could not be more excited. There definitely is a pep in my step. I usually hate rehearsal dinners but since it's mine I have definitely found an appreciation for it.
"Cmon babe lets go!" I project at my fiancé. She also seemed to be doing a little extra work. Although, I noticed she wasn't taking anything home with her, probably because she is a more efficient worker, which you definitely wouldn't be able to tell by looking at her pig pen of a workspace. "I'm coming I'm coming, jeez you're impatient." She said, chuckling. I love her humor but now is not the time. We have a rehearsal dinner to prepare for!
She scoops up her purse and reaches for my arm to hold. "So are you excited or what." She said sarcastically. Okay so maybe her humor is appropriated, even in a time like this. I playfully punched her in the shoulder and she pretends like she has been shot. "Look Prentiss, I'm you." She re-enacts getting shot in the arm and pretending as if nothing happened. A reference to a time where I got shot and acted all tough like it didn't happen.
"Hahah you're so funny." I say with a straight face followed by a light giggle. I reach back for her so we can lock arms again. "I know right, aren't I just the funniest?"

"Hello! It's time to go girls!" My mother screams from the living room. Let's just say Elizabeth Prentiss isn't known for her quiet demeanor. "Okay we heard you the first tome mom, we're coming, jeez." I say exasperated. I'm a little tense. I'm not usually one to get really dressed up and it's a big night so getting ready may have taken a little bit longer than expected. "Your mom's right, we have to start heading out." JJ says, a lot calmer than my mother. She's definitely the more level headed of the two of us.
"Okay okay. Ms. Jereau, are you ready for our rehearsal dinner." I say, outstreching my hand to the woman standing beside me. "Indeed I am, and it's SSA Jereau to you madam." We smile at each other, and leave for the dinner.
The dinner is being held at Rossi's mansion, as are all BAU gatherings. We arrive only fifteen minutes early which, according to my mom, is way too late. I send my mom on a wild goose chase just for the tome being, I definitely just need a little bit of space from her right now. While she's out doing what ever stupid task, JJ and I get ready to welcome guests, after greeting Rossi of course.
Everyone was relatively on time, except for one of JJ's old friends from highschool. The ceremony is going to be kind of small just because it's more intimate, which is code word for we don't have many friends. I'm fine with it though because that means less party favors.
Garcia arrived first, followed by Spencer. Soon after hotch and Jack showed up as well. Morgan was a little after everyone else, but on time nonetheless. All bearing hugs and smiles. And of course my mother has to introduce herself to everyone as well, so that was a scene for sure. It especially got crazy when Morgan began slightly flirting with my mom which made her quite flustered. JJ and I are never going to let her live that down.
Meanwhile we had an amazing dinner prepared by the amazing David Rossi followed by speeches from himself, Hotch, and the other teammates.
The night went by in a flash but the memory will last forever. It was amazing. We had laughs and drinks and fun, tomorrow is going to be ten times better and I can't wait. I'll bet a hundred bucks I will not be able to fall asleep tonight because of excitement.I was right, I didn't sleep, and neither did the woman laying next to me. "How many kids do you want?" JJ asked me. "Jayje, that's usually a question one asks before they get engaged." I chuckled and she looked at me a little more stern. "I'm being serious Prentiss. How many kids do you want." I reach to bite my nails, nervous I'm going to say the wrong thing. "Three or four, I don't know. Whatever you want sweetheart." She moves form her back to facing me, and I do the same.
"It's like you read my mind or something." A smile breaks into her face and I can't help but kissed her perfect lips. "You are going to be an awesome mom." I said to her. Truthfully I believed the statement 100%. She is already so perfect now, and I know she will be a perfect mom too. "No you." She said, she kissed my lips, then turned to side, falling asleep very quickly.
