Overthinking

Imagine trying to go on with your day and you have a moment to think, and instead of actually thinking about important things, your mind makes up scenarios. It can be over almost anything and everything. For example, knowing and trusting your boyfriend/girlfriend but your mind always making you think s/he's doing something that they shouldn't. You could be laying next to them and some random person texts them to hang out.

You try not to be jealous, but your mind won't let you. The whole next day they barely talk to you and you just get that feeling they are with that said person. You know they would never do something like that but your mind is holding you hostage to these terrible thoughts. Things that happened years ago surface and you're just lying there drowning in your thoughts. Trying to distract yourself from the thoughts but failing because they are so over bearing.

All you want is a night of peace, but instead you get tear stained pillows and thoughts that make you hate your life more and more each day/night. Trying to survive but struggling to keep the motivation. Wanting nothing but silence in your mind, only to be let down by the harsh words your mind spits at you. Making you lose some of the will to keep fighting. Trying to fight the thoughts, only to become a victim of them.
