Enter the Magic

Diwali break was done for me, I came back to college on my own, seated next to some lame and asexual collage girl on the plane to Jaipur. I flirted with her because I could, asking her saucy question about her being trapped in a room alone with me and the like. She wasn't the hottest, but I had nothing better to do for the whole 4 hours. I finally got down at the Jaipur airport, not the most crowded, and walked through the place to a taxi after picking up my bags. A 45-minute trip saw me parked 500 meters from the college gates, and I dragged my bags the rest of the way. After unloading my bags in my room, I wandered downstairs to the room of my classmate Sourav. We talked for about 2 hours on a lot of things. I went back upstairs to my own room afterwards, and let my friend Raghav Saxena inside an hour later, when it was already 10pm.

After a few sentences, Raghav started talking about how good he was at everything. I showed him the game I had downloaded, 'Shadow fight 2'. And he showed me himself beating a fight on impossible level. "Okay how long did it take you to get that good", I asked.

"It took me a week", he answered, "I would play four hours a day". I was impressed, I thought it would take way more practice than that to beat impossible. He also told me that in the past year or so, he had acquired a huge number of high-profile contacts. Business CEOs and famous scientists, even a fortune 500 billionaire. "How did you do that", I asked.

"By being social", he answered. "All I had to do was talk to them, I have that much talent", resounded his confident voice. He also told me that he learned 8 languages in the same time period all from online courses. Normally I would roll my eyes, but Raghav was fully confident and serious sounding. In this borderline condescending way.

"How did you learn all this so fast?", I asked.

"I know black magic", he replied, not a glint of insincerity in his eyes.

"Yeah what the heck?", I spoke back.

"Don't disrespect the master!", he said in a god fearing, serious voice. With the sound of total sincerity. "If you tell anyone else that I told you about this black magic, the master will kill both of us". I softened my voice.

"Then why did you tell me", I asked.

"The Master told me to find a disciple", he explained. "I had a lot of success with this magic and he was telling me to find a student, and I chose you", he answered.

"Why did you choose me?", I asked.

"You are a simple guy; I wouldn't trust anyone else with this". He answered.

He sounded as sincere and serious as could be. And kept on about the benefits of joining. "It would increase innate ability and natural talent", he explained. "Last year I was so stupid, but practicing this black magic has dramatically improved my learning ability and intelligence", he said. "And now I can learn and improve on things, 5 times faster than before", he continued. Not a glint in his eyes. His voice was far more serious than I had ever heard him be in anything, a new level of seriousness, almost like he was not the same person, talking about his magic. "You should join this black magic", he said.

"Wait, just tell me, who is this 'Master'", I asked.

"He is the controller of the magic, he sees all and knows all", stated Raghav. "I am going to be your agent", I will be the one to communicate with the master. "You in turn, will be a member of the family".

"So do any successful people do this magic?", I asked.

"50% of all successful people I see do this magic", he explained.

"Does this have anything to do with the illuminti?", I asked.

"The master, is the leader of the Illuminati", Raghav answered.

"Isn't the illuminati associated with Satan and hell and all?", I questioned.

"No, not at all, that is a big misconception", he answered.

"Can you recognize any other members of the family?", I asked.

"Yes, but it takes almost a year in the course contract, I am just starting to recognize other members of the family", he replied.

"Are you sure I should join this", I said to his sincere face.

"Look, this is the best thing you can do right now", he continued, "You enter this and tell your parents that you are doing a really big course that you pay in instalments".

"Do I really have to enter the course", I asked.

"I know 10 languages", he said, "and you would get better results, because I know, you are smarter than me".

I thought for a bit, self-improvement was way too hard, my efforts at becoming a great person fruitless. "Ok how do I enter", I asked. "You have to pay money to the master", he answered. How much money do you have?", he asked. "I have a 15 hundred rupees with me right now", I replied, showing my wallet. He and I knelt down in prayer to communicate with the master. "Please accept your new disciple, the great man Saswat". We stayed in silence for a few seconds. Finally, he called us up and told me that the master had accepted me, also that I had to pay 2500, since I also ad my debit card with me. "Don't worry, you are getting a huge discount, I paid 20000 rupees to join this black magic". We walked down with me to the ATM machine to withdraw 2500 rupees. "Then walked back up to my room to give it back to the master. "You are now a part of the family", he declared. "I'll stop him from using my Wi-Fi", I said immediately. "See, you are getting smarter", he pointed.

Raghav than continued about this magic, that I was now a part of the large 'family' of people who practice this magic, that had been going on for a thousand years. I was in a contract with the 'Master' a supernatural being, the leader of the Illuminati, that sees all and knows all, and very few people in the collage were members of this family. One would start to recognize other family members after a year, but for now, he was the only member of the 'family' to me, my agent to this wonderful magic. This was also to be kept secret. Telling even my own roommate would result in the master killing both of us. He could even tap into our brain cells, and switch it off, or could kill us with any alibi he wanted to use as well, "If you ask me, even the person you told will get killed by the master, unless the master wants you to be his agent", he explained.
