To you, the reader, whoever you may be,

I may not know who you are, and I don't understand the reasons for you following this story to its end but thank you so much for reading my train wreck of a fanfiction! This is probably the most... interesting... result of a dare I have ever seen. And yes, this was the result of a dare. I'm the type of person to never back down from a challenge and go jumping headfirst into anything because I get too invested. And this is why this thing exists!

So, let's answer a few questions you may or may not have:

Q: How long did this take to finish?

A: I think I was given the dare on the 15th June, or somewhere close to that. It was finished on the 15th July, so literally a month. I'm writing this on word, so I can tell you that there is 140 A4 pages worth of story, with over 65,000 words and 2,400 lines. Not bad for one month's worth of work, eh?

However, you may notice that there is a massive gap between me finishing the story and actually posting it. I released the story a lot later than I anticipated (started to release it on the 1st September) as I wanted to wait to make sure Dawko was alright (in real life) after his twitter posts concerning his mental health. But a month later, he seems to be getting along much better, so I felt more comfortable to release the story. So, I added a bit more stuff in the meantime. Turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself.

Q: What were your main sources of inspiration?

A: The original video (a Message to Scott Cawthon) was my main one, along with the Alton Towers vlog. I wouldn't say I took inspiration from other people's stories or theories though, although I still like to read them. Here's some recommendations if you want to read something similar:
@ConfusingChloe25 has an awesome story called "The White Eyes" which is also about the trip to Alton Towers, but she takes a different spin on the story compared to what I did. Go and take a read, I'm sure you'll like it!
@SkylarJ1113 also has a story wit the bois, called "What Lies Inside"; if you like the game Secret Neighbour, be sure to read that one! Right, next question before this turns into a list of all the authors I read...

Q: Is there going to be a sequel?

A: Probably... not. Don't get me wrong, I love writing, this was really fun to make, and I do have ideas for a follow up story. I... it's strange. I have no sense of shame but at the same time have no sense of self-confidence. So yeah; I'm too paranoid to make another story. I almost talked myself out of posting this, but I simply forced myself too as I didn't want to back out of a dare. But who knows? Mabey I'll have a change of heart. Mabey I won't. Mabey I'll think "ah, screw it, let's go torture some semi-fictional characters even more.

If you have any ideas for what a sequel could be, then let me know!

Edit 28/05/2020: So, I am making not one, but two more books! I actually surprised myself when I decided to do it, haha. Anyway, you can find the teaser for the first of the new books "Afraid of the Dark" here: https://my.w.tt/nbTM8TJIR6 .

Q: Did you feel bad for the youtubers while writing this?

A: Strangely enough, yes. It felt really wrong to write Baz's death for some reason, and it felt really wrong to have Ryan react to it. They were the only two bits that really got a reaction from me though. Whoops, I guess I'm heartless.

Q: Favourite character in this story and why?

A: UMMMM... I don't really know. Can I say Dawko and Darko? I mean, they are kind of the same person, right? Right!? I liked writing about the whole double personality thing, especially the parts where you got to see inside of Lewis's head like in Chapter 4 when he nearly drowns in the hot tub (try saying that out of context in a conversation), so I think they are my favourite characters. Oh, and by the way - as you may have guessed - no, it's not split personality disorder or dissociation disorder or anything like that. In this world, the whole "alter ego" thing is it's own, unique... disease thing. I don't really know what it is, I haven't got that far yet. Afterall, there are actually very VERY few cases of "criminals" with one of these disorders. It's just a wierd stereotype that people made up. Just because someone has a mental disorder, it doesn't automatically make them a criminal. Make sure you remember this, and never be too quick to judge someone based on stereotypes and stigmas.
