One week before summer:

4:35 PM After School

I was sitting with Aaliyah in the stands waiting for Daij

Liyah: Do you like Dae?

You: Of course I do

Liyah: No, I mean- Like, like her

You: As more than a friend?

She nodded

You: Nah

Liyah: Lamelo, I can feel the vibe between you two. I think you should give it a go

You: What?

I said dropping my smile

Liyah: Listen, I love you, I do, but I know you two will work out no matter how much you deny it. 

You: There's nothing going on. Her and Rife just broke up

Liyah: That's why you wait until she's ready

You: I'm confused

Liyah: I wanna be with you, but I'd rather see you happier with her. She needs you... That night when she just walked out and you went after her, you knew she needed help. Ever since that night you've gotten along better than ever.

You: But-

Liyah: I don't wanna hear a word until you two try

You: I-

Liyah: We're still close, but remember

She said before standing up

Liyah: Love you

She smiled before walking away. I just sat back in my chair

You: I just basically got dumped

Daij: That's tough

You: She wants me to be with Dae...

Daij: Me too. Ya'll have been getting along REALLY well. Just saying

I just chuckled

Present Day - A week later

I was with Dae at a bakery since Ri was having some type of thing tonight. She placed an order and we both got something while we were waiting. We just sat down and talked for a bit. 

Dae: But for real... Melo, I want you

I just looked at her not knowing what to say. I mean I was beyond happy. She was a good girl

You: You're kidding

Dae: I'm serious, for months I've felt this weird connection between us, but I didn't know why

You: Me too

I smiled making her smile full.

Dae: And I started to want you more

I chuckled

Dae: But-

You: Will you be my girlfriend?

Dae: Yes!

She said hugging me. Everyone started clapping and cheering. When we got all the stuff to her venue we told her what happened and she was so surprised. So was Bryson, Daij already knew somehow.
