I woke up the next day. It was quiet and she was gone. I got up and got ready for practice. I walked downstairs and got Nala's bag ready. I walked into her room and lifted her up. I put her in her carseat before bringing her bag outside. I brought my bag out then brought her. I drove to Shawn's place. I got her bag and lifted her up. I knocked on his door. He opened it

Shawn: Hey

He smiled

You: Yeah, um, here she is

Shawn: What happened

You: What are you talking about

I said hand her to him.

Shawn: Dae didn't bring her and you looked really... I don't know

You: I guess she's gone. But she said she'd be back. I'll just wait before acting up

Shawn: So my sister's missing

I just looked at him

You: I don't know. Take care of Nala for me

Shawn: Of course. Who wouldn't take care of this angel

I chuckled and smiled. He dapped me up before I left. I drove to practice. I just sat in my car. I just looked at the building before unlocking my phone. I turned it off and rested my elbows on the wheel. I put my head down. There was a knock on my window and I wiped my face. I looked up and it was Kyle. He walked around and got in the passenger's seat.

Kyle: What's wrong, man

You: I think Daesha's gone

Kyle: What do you mean gone. She left gone or missing gone

You: Missing gone

Kyle: How

You: I don't know... She said she'd be back, but- I don't know

Kyle: I'll talk to you after practice. Let's go

You: Ok

I got out and walked inside. I walked straight to my locker before changing.

Steph: You're upset. What happened

You: I think Daesha's missing

Steph: No way

You: I'll just give it a bit before I over react. She said she'd be back if something happened

Steph: She never breaks a promise

You: Yeah

Soon the whole team was onto me. We were almost done with practice when the coach called me over

Coach: What is wrong with you today. Bryson you're never this... I don't even know what you are, what's going on

You: Well coach... I think my future wife is gone

Coach: That's why you don't have kids before marriage. She probably didn't want kids right now or a relationship. Most of these girls don't know what they want and you should've-

You: Missing gone, she didn't pack up and leave

Coach: Daesha's missing

You: Yeah, but it's good to know you think she'd pack up and leave me like that. Not only me but her child

I walked back into the locker room

I just kept walking. I changed and left. I got in my car and drove home. I got in bed and cried. Come back soon, please. I can't do this alone. I mean I can for Nala but it won't be the same. Shawn: No, it's ok. She was sleep most of the time. And I love my niece

I chuckled.

Shawn: How bout this. I'll keep her for a few days and you can figure out what you're gonna be like. I mean I'm upset too, but if she said she's coming back I know she'll be back. Maybe not in a week or so, but she will be back. Especially since she has someone of her own to look after. Think about it. I got my niece, and you get you. Come back when you're ready

Shawn: That did sound a little funny

You: Yeah, but I'll definitely be back

He chuckled before hugging me. He pulled away

Shawn: Other times when this happened Ri said I was a good substitute

You: I agree. You should've been twins

I walked back to my car. I don't know how I was supposed to go on without thinking of her. She's my home screen and my lock screen. Not only that but the pictures in our house, Nala, Shawn, and online. She's everywhere. I got home and Mikey was calling

You: Wassup, bro

Mikey: Wassup, you with Dae?

You: Um, no

Mikey: Oh... She was supposed to practice with me an hour ago. She didn't answer her phone

You: Yeah um... I don't know when she's coming back

Mikey: What do you mean

You: Um... She's missing... I think...

Mikey: What do you mean? There's no way she's missing I haven't heard anything

You: I talked to her before it happened. She said she'd be back but she had to go alone or we'd both be gone... And she never came back

He was quiet.

Mikey: Oh... Ok

His voice was weak. He hung up. I knew he was hurt, she was like a big sister to him. They built a close bond since they met.
