As everyone in the ARMY community knew Hana and the boys have been on break. A well deserved break after the years of constant work, touring, comebacks, and more. And this would be the first genuine break and vacation all 8 members will have had in years. This would be a time for all of them to genuinely enjoy their time in their young adult hood. And try to get back the time they've missed due to all of the work they've done.
Hana and the boys were all different places. Hoseok in LA. Jimin in Paris. Hana chose to go back home to New Zealand. Some members chose to stay back in Korea or go back to their hometowns. This was probably the first time all of them have been apart for more than a week.
Jungkook chose to go back home to Busan and visit his family. As everyone. And I mean everyone knows the maknae's birthday was coming up. And all the members were more than excited and happy to know that Jungkook will be spending his first birthday with his family since he was 13.
All of the 7 elder members made a group chat without Jungkook to discuss his birthday. And what was the plan since they were all in different parts of the world doing different things.

Hana: I know that we are all currently doing different things right now but our maknae's birthday is coming up and so I wanted to make sure everybody was aware
Jiminie-oppa: I was planning on sending him a souvenir from Paris!!🗼☺️
Jin-oppa: I said Happy birthday to him already so I think I'm good
Hobi-oppa: hyung what do you mean you said Happy birthday already? His birthday is in like 3 days
Jin-oppa: I thought I'd forget so I said it early, can that be my present?
Hana: ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Joonie-oppa: I planned to take him with me to an art exhibition when he comes home
Just before Hana could respond to the group chat she gets a text from someone.
Kookie: NOONA!!!!!
Hana: Yah why are you yelling at me through text I feel like I can hear you even without you here
Kookie: I was going to say I missed you but nevermind then😑
Hana: I missed you too bud. How are you enjoying the time with your family??
Kookie: it's been really good I guess...
Hana: you guess?
Kookie: I just miss you and all the hyungs that's all😅
Hana: we miss you too bud
Hana: and aren't you excited to be spending your birthday with your family?

10 minutes pass and no response from Jungkook. Hana didn't know what was wrong. All she asked was if he was excited to be with his family for his birthday. Hana starts walking around her house. She makes herself a pot of ramyeon and dumplings then sits at the kitchen table when her mom comes over and sits down too.
Hana slurping her noodles still staring at her phone waiting for Jungkook to respond, clear distress in her face. Her mom doesn't take long to realize her daughters expressions.
"What's wrong love?" Hana's mom asks
"Jungkook...he hasn't responded to my text. I don't know if I said the wrong thing or-"
