I'm standing at the altar, my fiancé in front of me and all our family and friend watching us intently. I've been dreaming about this moment for years, and I know she has to. My dear, darling Lillian. For all the years to come, we would remember this day, for today we become one in the bonds of matrimony. It was almost time for us to say 'I do'. Holding her hands in mine and staring deeply into her eyes, while the priest asks the question,
"Do you, Lilliana Smith, take Eric White to be your lawfully wedded husband; to have and to hold in sickness and in health, through richer and poorer, for as long as you both shall live?"
I give my dear Lily a hopeful look as she nods her head and whispers a soft yes. Yet again the priest asks the question, "And do you, Eric White, take Lilliana Smith to be your lawfully wedded wife; to have and to hold in sickness and in health, through richer and poorer, for as long as toy both shall live?"
I grin widely, take a deep breath and answer,
"I d-" The door bursts open, and three tall men in dark suits strut through the door as if they own the place. I look at them as if they were crazy,
"Stop the wedding!" The first man shouts. Everyone turns to them in shock, why gate-crash this wedding? "Lilliana, you are to come with us immediately!" He continues.
I look towards Lilliana, it's like she is in a trance facing the men with her eyes closed. To any outsider, it would have looked like she were asleep while standing, but I knew something wasn't right. I gave her shoulder a squeeze,
"Lily? Baby? Are you alright? Who are they?" I asked, concerned about the situation that was taking place. All I got in return was the feeling of emptiness return to my hand, she had walked forwards. Even with her eyes still closed, there was nothing stopping her actions."Lilliana..." The second guy called, "You have no control," He continued as if he were being forced to be here. At this Lily dropped her head down slowly. The movement worried me to no extent, so I walked cautiously towards her,
"Babe? Lily, please talk to me... are you okay?" I spoke softly to her. All I needed was confirmation that she was still here.
"Be quiet." She hissed, her voice was so low that it wasn't hers. I advanced towards her a slight bit more, "Stay back!" She shouted, her head still hung limply, arms by her side. For the next couple of minutes, everyone was silent, everything was calm, everything was as if it were paused. Until the third dark-suited male commented,
"You must come with us Lillian, you have no right to object to us."That was all it took for her limp head to snap up, her arms to raise and a bright flash of light to erupt from her seemingly possessed body. All three dark-suited specimens went flying, each crashing into the floor at an uncontrollable pace. Each of the three bodies lay still in uncomfortable positions, eyes wide open with a shiny glaze covering them. They were dead! There was no denying that. Sweet, innocent Lilliana Smith killed three guys within the snap of your fingers.
Only when a thump was heard did I snap out of my confused posture. I looked to where I heard the source of the sound, to see Lily laying on the floor. I run over to her, lay her in my lap and check her pulse. At first, I check her neck, but it was too unclear from her position if she were alive, so I moved onto her wrist. I could feel the soft beating of her pulse. I sigh with frustration, happiness and so many more emotions. I'm just glad she's still alive.
I pick her up bridal-style (how fitting) and walk out of the church. My goal now was to get Lily home... without accidentally dripping her. Time passed and I was still walking, some people gave me weird looks, others just ignored me, while one person asked me if I drugged and kidnapped her. We were about half-way to our apartment and I was getting tired, it was a 30-minute walk, and when you're carrying a passed out body through busy streets, it turns into an hours journey.
