"The Earth is littered with the ruins of empires that believed they were eternal."
By the way, there may be some writing in bold, this is a note, because I'm a bit stupid.
Also, the pod rooms it talks about are shown in the image attached. I got the idea from a youtuber. They are from a capsule hotel in Japan, and were becoming quite a trend during 2019.It wasn't meant to end this way, but sometimes, things don't go as you want them to. World peace is a struggle for us. All people in power just want to be top of the world. We can't help that. There isn't much else to do except sit back and watch as powerful men fight over what is not theirs.
It is the year 2047; people are dying and buildings collapsing. It is not a pretty sight. And for those who have to fight against the fight, well let's just pity them.
Melissa is just an average 19-year-old. Living in what was meant to be an apartment complex, but is now a pile of rubble in front of her. She sighs as she begins to walk over to the still-growing crowd of apartment inhabitants,
"Hey!" She called, tapping one of her neighbour's shoulders. Landon spun around to see Melissa,"Hey, what's up?" He asked casually, as if they weren't standing by what is no longer their home. Melissa shrugged,
"The sky. But what are we supposed to do now? Our homes are destroyed," She asked him.
It wasn't very long before a reply came from Landon, it wasn't long, nor was it very different from what she expected,
"I don't know. Wait here and pray that the government is going to do something about this, I guess..." He confirmed Melissa's thought, uncertainly.
"I put all my savings in this place, the least they can do is give us somewhere to stay, right?" Melissa wondered, concerned.
Only 3 hours later, some government officials (this probably isn't right, but, never mind XD) had arrived at the scene.
As the officials stood in front of everyone, one of them cleared their throat. After silencing the crowd, he states,"On behalf of the government, we apologize for the destruction of your homes. We would like you all to find a safe place to stay, preferably underground."
This wasn't right; Melissa had nowhere to go, especially not an underground bunker. So, instead of letting them leave, she raises her voice,
"Wait!" She shouts. All eyes were on her, and there was no turning back, "I don't know about anyone else here..." She starts, "But I don't have the money to rent another place, and I have no relative or friend to get help from. You should fix this..." She finishes, trailing off. It was at this point that she was beginning to feel very self-conscious about herself.
"I agree!" Landon called, giving her a look of approval.
"You should be giving us 'a safe place to stay, preferably underground'. This apartment complex was one of the cheapest in the city, and I'm sure that I am not the only person who will be struggling to find a place to stay," She was getting more and more confident with each word she spoke. It was short-lived as a second government official stepped forward,
"Silence!" He said, he wasn't shouting, nor was he talking normally. His voice was raised to the point where everyone gathered around immediately stopped and stared at him.
Seconds passed and nothing was said... until,
"We will provide a public underground bunker for the members of this apartment complex,"
Melissa was shocked, to say the least,
"Thank-" She began, only to be cut off by the first government official,"Is this sufficient enough for you, miss?" He asked, clearly irritated. His icy glare was shooting daggers through her head. If looks could kill, Melissa would have been buried six-feet-under.
