"Beam? Son? You don't have to do this." His father pleaded.

"Then tell me what should I do Pa?" Beam responded with frustration.

"This is the only way." Beam added, persuading himself more than his father.

"Forth.. H-he.. He is a g-good man."

Lies.

His father sighed and wiped his face with his palm.

"But do you love him?" He asked.

Beam couldn't look straight at his father's eyes. It was an easy question which he wasn't sure what to answer to.

"We.. W-we were friends before.."

"Beam, this is marriage we are talking about. There's no backing out once you're in." His father reminded him.

"I know Pa.. I know.. But this will also take care of all our problems." He bowed his head down.

It took him by surprise when his father hugged him.

"I'm sorry Beam. You've always been the one to straighten our family out. I have never been more proud to have a son like you." His father said in a shaky voice.

That was enough for Beam to breakdown.

In bandages and crutches with his mother's assistance, his younger brother approached them. Both wearing an expression of grave worriness.

"P'? I'm.. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I'm sorry." His brother started sobbing and Beam could only hug him in return.

"It's okay.. It's not your fault. Just focus on recovering and then help out Pa. Okay?" Beam kissed the side of his head.

"I promise I'll be better for our family. I'm sorry Pa. Ma, I'm sorry." His brother uttered with a broken voice.

These were words Beam would never thought he would hear from his brother.

Beam's mother had joined in hugging them.

"B-Beam you don't have to marry that man. We can start over. We are a family. We'll get through this together."

Had it been the truth, it would've made Beam jumped up and down from joy. In a perfect world they may be able to start again after losing everything to Forth. But this isn't a perfect world and Beam knew that.

He knew that for his family to live the good life that they have now he has to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Beam shakes his head to his mother.

"Ma don't worry about me. Forth will.. he will take good care of me." Beam forced a smile.

Lies.

It seemed like his mother had wanted to argue but she felt like Beam had already made up his mind.

For the first time in a very long time, Beam was able to embrace his whole family. He will cherish it for he no longer knows what will happen after he marries Forth.

In a short while, a van with a security team will pick them up and drop them at the airport. They would then fly in a private jet all the way to Dublin. Forth had it all planned on schedule down to the last second.

Beam absent mindedly stared at the clouds. They were so high up that it almost gave him the urge to jump. Just jump and let it be done with. Beam hoped it was that easy.

He assume they would arrive at their destination by morning. Beam wonders if he would be even capable of saying his vows.

There was a time that he had considered on marrying Forth, specially when they were still in college. It was a thought that would often cross his mind. That time felt like ages ago. Everything had changed now and everyone, Forth more than others.

Beam knew he hasn't seen what Forth is really capable of. He kidnapped him, drugged him, raped him and now Beam was going to marry him.

Beam felt like ever since he had met Forth again, his life turned upside down in a snap. His life was joke but no one was laughing.

He tries to remember the days when it was peaceful. The good days. The days when he would work in his office, have dinner with Pha or Kit on Fridays or visit his clinics. The days when he get to do mundane things, the simplest things, it all seemed such a long time now.

Beam closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of the good old days.

There was a light sensation on his lips. It lingered and then it was gone. Beam shifted in his sleep because of it, only to be woken up by a light tap on his cheek. He slowly opened his eyes and he was greeted by a standing Forth. He was staring at Beam.

"Get up. Your family went ahead of us. They're already on their way to the house." Forth said while looking at Beam's lips.

Beam was disoriented. Did the jet landed? Did they arrived in Dublin? He has so many questions.

"Stop looking around. Get up and follow me." Forth instructed.

He immediately followed Forth. He didn't say anything back. Beam thought that it was pointless now.

Blame it on jetlag or his sleepy self but Beam tripped and almost fell if it hadn't been for Forth's security catching him.

Forth glared at the guy in suit and shades who instantly backed away and bowed his head apologetically as if helping Beam had offended his boss.

"Get in." Forth opened the car door.

The entire drive Beam was restless. He wanted to go back home. He started rocking his knees up and down.

Forth noticed. He took Beam's hand and intertwined it with his on his lap.

Beam let out a silent gasp and held his breath. He glanced at Forth who was looking away from Beam, staring outside the window.

He felt Forth gently rubbed his thumb across the top of his hands.
