(Narrator)Lance.
Why did this happen? Why did he have to die?
Nobody had wanted the beautiful Cuban blue boy to die.
It was so unexpected.Lance protected them. And he died because of it.
They felt at fault.Being in a war...
They have seen many, many deaths.
But to see your friend- No, family, die protecting you, wasn't something you see every day. It's something you would never want to see. Something that, despite all the bad things that you witness, day to day, seeing someone you love and/or care about dearly can cause even the most calm person, one who's used to things like that, want to just burst into tears, give up.
But they didn't give up. Giving up was something they could never do. Lance didn't give up, he didn't hesitate to save them when he could.
He had hope, he had courage. He had heart.
To them, he was hope. He was courage. And he was the very heart of their team. But not anyone can realize these things. Some are blind, some are oblivious. Some just don't want to except it.
Some just don't care.
Seeing someone die may be as alien to some people as it could be triggering for others. Do people really not care if someone were to die unless they knew them?
That is something that could be expected during a war. But this war, may not be as different to any other. Then again, not every war is being fought for the same thing.
