Lance had woken up standing (floating a bit from the floor, but so close to it) in front of the tapestry. His eyes seemed to glow and the lions seemed to glow back. As he woke, he blinked and shook his head. What was he doing here? Didn't he go upstairs and start writing something? He noticed the glow coming from the lions as they seemed to reach to him, telling him to follow them. 'Come on, Little Blue, come with us.' 'Come, come with us~' 'We know what you wish to know~' 'Come on, Little Blue, follow us-' All the lions seemed to speak. All the lions answering at the same time, '-to your destiny~' 'Come, Little Blue, we are your family. We are your space family. You want a family, don't you?' They seem to ask innocently.
Lance found himself nodding to their words. "Yes, I'll go. I'll follow you. Space family.. yeah, let's go...'
The lions seemed to smile and send him gentle and loving vibes. Blue held out her paw and he grabbed on gently. She lead him with her inside the tapestry, the lions going ahead to wherever they seemed to be going. As the ghost- no, boy stepped inside the tapestry, it glowed a faint blue, all the colors till it disappeared in a twinkling light. A wind passed through the mansion, the tapestry gone without a trace..
----------
Lance awoke and sat up, rubbing his eyes. He looked around sleepily and realized he was in a bed, covered in soft blankets. He jumped out of the bed and raced into the bathroom, looking into a mirror to see if he was dreaming. He saw a 17 year old teen with ocean blue eyes, chocolate brown hair and blue pajamas.
He pinched himself just in case. He wasn't dreaming...
He ran in and screamed into a pillow. He wasn't dreaming, this wasn't a dream! He wasn't in the mansion by himself, he wasn't dead! But how...?
He remembered the tapestry. Had the tapestry-
"Lance McClain, get up! I may be your mother but I'm not dressing you and feeding you myself! Nor do you expect me to take you to the Garrison holding your hand!"
He quickly raced around and got ready. He raced down the stairs and was met with his mother, Rosa.
Rosa sighed. "There you are! Come on, come on- Mama's gotta feed you before you can head off for another day again." She pushed him gently into the kitchen, plopped him down and placed breakfast in front of him.
---------
He met Hunk and Pidge for the first time but they already seemed to know him. Lance asked some questions about himself and when questioned by Pidge if he hit his head, he replied, "Nah, I just had this weird dream and everything. I just wanted to make sure this wasn't a dream." He played it off with a sheepish rub of the neck. Pidge and Hunk seemed to be satisfied and answered all his questions.
------
They were now on the Garrison rooftop and Pidge was talking about this thing called Voltron, which seemed to struck a cord with Lance. It sounded familiar.. A picture formed in his mind, briefly and quickly it was as gone as it had appeared. They turned when they heard a crash.
They then saw- "That's Keith! I wouldn't forget that mullet anywhere!" Lance's mind just seemed to go on autopilot as he gave the binoculars to Hunk and raced off toward them. Hunk was yelling about, "That's Keith?! Are you sure-" And Pidge was just yelling about who's Keith?!
Heck if he knew, but he felt like he knew him without even thinking about it.
-----
A few hours later and they were briefed on each other. Keith didn't seem to know Lance and neither did Lance honestly. But he just felt like he knew him.. like he was supposed to know him.. Who was he? Who was Keith to him?
Lance's mind when on autopilot the rest of the time until they got to Keith's shack. Lance snapped out of it and looked around, trying not to look suspicious about it. Nobody noticed and he sighed internally.
------
Lance touched the images etched into the rock, drawn to it. He felt like he'd felt that feeling before, that.. magic. They shown blue, flowing in steady stream over all the other sketched images.
Keith noted, "It's never done that before.."
Lance looked at his hand briefly, wondering what this was. He couldn't think about anything more before the ground was sucked out from underneath him and they fell.
------
Lance walked forward as if in a daze. It was Blue..
'Hello, Little Blue.'
"Hello, Blue."
Pidge raised an eyebrow. "You know what this is?"
Lance shook his head softly but didn't take his eyes off of Blue. His mouth moved on it's own, forming words. "This is Blue, she's one part of Voltron." He walked closer. "You guys don't hear her..?"
Hunk pulled on his arm gently. "Um, dude, you're acting really weird. This morning, it was like you didn't know who you were, and now you know-" He waved his arms toward Blue.
Lance blinked. He sighed. "Hunk, I told you it was because of a dream. And.. well, I don't know how I know her."
'Little cub, space family.'
"Space..?"
'Space family. I am from space, Lance.'
"You're.. from space?" He tilted his head as the others glanced around at each other, uncertain what to think.
Blue seemed to laugh, a rumble of a purr echoing in his mind. 'Why not knock, Little one?'
"Knock.." Lance wasn't held back anymore and walked forward, knocking on the shield. " 'Maybe you just have to knock.' "
--------
Lance was in Blue with the rest as he seemed to go back on autopilot, piloting Blue as they raced from the galra. They zoomed into a wormhole.
