On the morning of 1st September, Belvina had invited Demi, Danny and Nathan as well as the Malfoys to her house for breakfast before they all left for King's Cross station.
Hogwarts Express was scheduled to leave at 11 sharp and everyone had gathered at the Burke abode way before nine in the morning; all except Abraxas who was still taking his time to recover from the severe torture Riddle had recently inflicted on him.
Eridanus had been rather excited to start his first term at the wizarding school, but the same couldn't be said for Lucius. Though he had been in good spirits before, seeing his father in such a worsened state had put a dampener on Lucius's mood.
He was too young to understand the perils his family was surrounded by due to pledging their loyalty and allegiance to Lord Voldemort. All he knew was that his father had very nearly escaped death and he wished to do all in his power to prevent such a disastrous incident from happening ever again.
Perseus was to accompany them all to the station while Herbert and Belvina were to stay at home. After breakfast, the group assembled by the fireplace since they were going to use Floo Network to go to King's Cross. One by one, they sprinkled in the powder and vanished to their destination. The station had a special waiting room designed only for wizard use which had fireplaces that operated via Floo Network.
Aquila had gone first, then Lucius and Danny had stepped in, then Demelza followed shortly by Nathan while Perseus had been the last to do so. When he stepped out of the fireplace at King's Cross, he was met by a crowded sight.
People were rushing in haste, trunks were being dragged on the floor, he could even spot a few students already dressed in their school uniforms with their owls perched upon their trolleys. The 1st of September was truly the busiest day of the year for King's Cross station.
"Mum, are we really supposed to walk through a wall to get to our platform?" Danny asked thoroughly surprised when Lucius told him the way to access platform 9 3/4.
"Yes, dear. This will be my first time visiting the platform as well," Demi admitted, giving him a gentle smile. Both Demelza and Perseus had been home-schooled hence they had never had the chance to even see the concealed platform let alone boarding the Hogwarts Express.
All of them crossed the barrier between platform 9 and 10 which propelled them to the magically adjusted platform 9 3/4. The magnificent scarlet express puffed out white smoke as it was parked on its respective position, waiting for the students to climb aboard.
Both Danny and Perseus were awestruck by the sight. They were quite absorbed taking in the surroundings, with Lucius proudly explaining facts about the Hogwarts express to them. But Demelza looked a little sad, her brown eyes reflecting a rather melancholic expression.
She hadn't noticed how quickly time had flown by and now her little Eridanus had grown enough to attend Hogwarts. Even though she was glad that her son was receiving the opportunity she and Perce hadn't availed, she was also sad to part with him for so long.
Ever since Riddle's unexpected outburst at the Malfoy Manor, she had never let her son out of her sight for long. She feared that Danny was much more than what he seemed to be and she always wanted to make sure that he was protected and never strayed too far from her vigilant gaze.
But proper schooling was just as important for such a magically talented boy like Eridanus, and so she had to put up with separating from him for as long as it was necessary so that he could properly learn how to control and enhance his magical abilities.
She would sometimes wonder that it could have been better if Nathan hadn't had to resign from his post as Defense teacher at all. That way, she wouldn't have worried about her son too much for she knew Nathan would have taken good care of him.
