It was a fine day in late May. The sun shone however the weather wasn't very hot but mildly pleasant. It was the and of a beautiful spring and the season of summer was ready to grace the land. The arrival of summer had set a joyous atmosphere, and such relief had gripped the Whitburg family as well.

Demelza and Nathan had got married in a very simple ceremony where only close friends, family and neighbors were invited. It had been almost two months since their union. Eridanus seemed to have adjusted well in his new surroundings as well. And even Demi was quite content with her decision.

Nathan Whitburg had no doubt been the best choice for both of them.

Due to the security issues faced by both Demelza and Nathan, Dumbledore had asked them to reside in Hogsmeade and himself made sure that they would be safe from any sort of attack by Riddle or his men by securing their house with protective enchantments.

Nathan also found the current residential accommodation quite convenient as it was close to Hogwarts, so he could easily fulfill his job as a Professor during the day and retire to his family after the teaching hours were over.

He had succeeded in befriending young Danny as well through his countless tales of Ilvermorny as well as his former job as an Auror, both at the MACUSA and the British Ministry, which fascinated the boy a lot. And since he cared for Demelza, it automatically made him a good person in Danny's eyes.

At the moment, Eridanus had gone to spend the day at his grandparents and Lucius was also supposed to be there at the Burke's abode. Nathan was at Hogwarts while Demelza was tending to her daily routine as a housewife.

She didn't have the facility of house elves but working on her own had never been much of a nuisance to her. The dinner was almost ready, there wasn't a speck of dust to be seen and she was arranging the freshly picked irises in a vase. It was the last bloom of the season in their garden and she had brought the flowers in before they would get wiped out due to the onset of the new season.

After so long she finally felt like she was somewhat at peace with her life. Nathan had taken both of them in sincerely and it was quite evident that he cared for Eridanus as if he was his own flesh and blood. At first, Demi had her concerns regarding the relationship between her son and her husband. She knew that Nathan was aware about Eridanus being the son of his tormentor, and so she had feared whether the two would never get along.

But he had put an end to all her fears by embracing the child and assuring her that he understood being Riddle's son wasn't Danny's fault.

They had bonded rather well, much to Demelza's surprise and relief. He had once taken Danny to Diagon Alley on a trip, showing him all the places of interest there and bought him a pet owl as well which he had named Lyra. Ever since then, the child regarded him as a close friend and had softened a lot towards him.

She had set the vase at the table and headed to the kitchen in order to check up on the vegetables she had put on the stove to boil. But shortly afterwards the door bell rang. Demelza wasn't expecting anyone to arrive at that time. Nathan would still be at Hogwarts and her father had told her that he would drop Danny off before dinner time.

However, she went to the door thinking that maybe any of her neighbors had stopped by for a visit. But she was surprised to see Nathan outside upon opening the door. "Nathan? You hadn't told me you were going to come home for tea."

He had seen the surprise on her face and smiled, quite visibly happy about something, "I hope you excuse me for not informing you earlier, but it would have ruined the surprise."

She stepped aside to let him enter, "what surprise, may I ask?"

"We have a guest here, Demi. I'm sure you would like to meet him very much."
