Lacey's POV
I woke up in a giant bed which seemed as if it consumed my whole body. I felt even smaller on this giant bed. I sat up and whimpered when I felt pain shoot through my ribs and back.
I pushed myself to the edge of the bed and swung my legs over to the floor. I had to "jump" off the bed due to my height, or lack thereof. When I landed on my left leg, my good leg, I wobbled a little before I found something to lean onto. This happened to be the nightstand which had a note on it.

I went out to do pack business. Try not to get off the bed, I don't want you to get hurt. I'll be back by the end of the day.
-Adrian

I let out a sigh of relief. I grabbed the pair of crutches the was resting on the night stand and made my way to the bathroom. As I was hobbling over to the bathroom, I caught a glimpse of a calendar. I made a detour to the calendar to see what the date is. When I reached the calendar, I let out a gasp. I've been unconscious for a month!
I had chemo three days ago and I missed it! I hobbled over to the door with my crutches but panicked when I heard voices from the other side of the door. What if they torture me and deprive me of my treatments like Alpha Rowan did not long ago. I turned around and went to the window. I looked out of it and found a plumbing pipe that went down the side of the wall. I started to take in deep breaths trying to tell myself that six floors isn't that long of a drop.
I open the window and throw my crutches down to a bush on the floor, hopping that would diminish some sound. I then used the nightstand to get to the window sill. I grabbed onto the plumping pipe with my hands, closed my eyes, gave a little prayer, and started to slide down. I didn't open my eyes, therefore I let myself crash onto the floor when the pipe reached an end. I whimpered but I pulled myself up anyway.
Grabbing my crutches, I started to make my way around the perimeter of the castle until I found a back route to the forest, hoping not to get caught.

I made it past the territory line and into a human village. I asked a girl about seventeen or eighteen who was walking out of an ice cream shop with a five or six year old girl where the nearest hospital would be. She gave me directions to the Blue Cross Hospital, the hospital I was previously planned to go to, thank god, and I made my way there.
The moment I entered the hospital, a man lifted me into a giant hug. I panicked until he put me down and I saw who it was.
Ryan.
I met him at the first hospital I made my way to when I first escaped Alpha Rowan.

Flashback
I wandered into a human village once I stopped running from the pack I was in previously with Alpha Rowan. As I walked through the town, dodging as many people as I possibly could, I stumbled upon a hospital. I walked in a nurse immediately took me into a semi-private room. It was empty. She started tending to all of my wounds and gave me x-rays and tests for my health.
I sat there for an hour waiting for them to return with the results. My previously empty semi-private room was then taken up by a giant, buff looking guy who looked to be nineteen or twenty.
I completely tried to ignore him and be silent, not wanting him to hurt me.
But he practically forced me to have a conversation with his asking so many questions.
When the nurse came back and told me to the news that she discovered I had blood cancer, I wasn't surprised. But she then came in with all these materials and equipment and I started to panic. There were needles among those materials. Wolfsbane could me injected into me through needles. Or silver. Or poison. Or anything that could hurt me.
I started to hyperventilate and I became very dizzy.
The guy who was talking to me earlier rushed over to me, despite all of his injuries, and started to sooth me and comfort me telling me it was okay. He held my hand while the nurse put the needle in my arm. I cried and screamed but he just told me how well I was doing and how it would all be over soon.
When the treatment, which I learned was chemo, was in progress, the nurse shooed the boy over to his cot and started to clean and stitch his wounds. After about ten minutes, he looked as though he was barely even hurt. He got up from the cot and made his way back over to me.
He got onto the cot and pulled me to his side because I was still shaking and scared.
"I know that something happened to you and you're a werewolf," he said. My eyes went wide and I started to panic again. "Hey, hey, hey, I didn't mean it as a threat, little one. And you don't have to tell me about your past until you're ready or if you even want to. I was just going to say that I'm a rouge too. How about I travel with you hospital to hospital while you get your treatments. It's not a good idea to stay in one place too long when you're a rouge." I just nodded my head and put my head on his chest. He stroked my hair and I was about to fall asleep.
"My name's Ryan, little one. What's yours?" he asked. I was already nodding off to sleep, but I bundled up enough energy to respond.
"Lacey." I whispered, knowing he heard me because he's a werewolf even though I was barely audible.
"Lacey." He said like he was testing my name. "We're going to be best friends."
I just smiled and then everything went black as I fell asleep.
End of Flashback

I did end up telling Ryan what happened to me with Alpha Rowan. To say he didn't take my story well is an understatement. He wanted to kill someone. But I gracefully convinced him not to.
"Where were you? What happened to you? You missed your appointment! You're late for chemo! Why do you have a cast? Did someone hurt you? I'm going to kill him!" he was rambling on and on about how I'm hurt asking why and that I missed chemo three days ago.
"Hey, hey, hey," I said to him like he said to me not so long ago. "I'm here, I'm only three days late, and I'm alive. How about we leave it at that for now?" He let out a groan but them nodded and started to lead me to where I'm assuming I'm getting chemo.
"Fine. But you will explain once you get your IV and the chemo has started," he scolded.
"Deal."
*
I already explained to Ryan about what happened a month ago when I was going to meet him at the homeless shelter we were going to stay at for the month until my next chemo was finished.
He was pacing and he had a thirst for blood.
"Hey, calm down, I'm alive right," I said even though y voice was strained. I always get headaches during chemo and really tired.
Ryan turned to me and then he slightly lifted me up from the chair I was sitting in and placed me on his lap.
"I'm sorry, Lacey. I'll stop. I'm here now," he mumbled. I nodded and rested my head on his chest like I do every time I get chemo.
After a few minutes, the door to the semi-private room was burst open and in stepped the man who was incredibly powerful and intimidating the last day I was awake. He strode over to us and picked me, gently off of Ryan and then with his spare arm, pushed Ryan off the chair and onto the floor. He then placed me back on the chair and started to beat up Ryan like nothing I've ever seen before.
"Ryan!" I screamed. I felt as tears streamed down my face as I blacked out with the last image of Ryan on the ground in a pool of his own blood.
