Part 3

A/N idk who read the first chapter when it first came out but I did change the character name and the time skip is at the end of this part. Enjoy.

The next day, Chrollo, came to me. He gave the orders. "You won't be using the front gate, that would be too obvious, you need to get past the butlers house in order to get far enough from anyone seeing and disrupting the plan. I will give you the pleasure of allowing you to decide how the rest will play out, you know the goal, interpret the rest how you'd like." He never sticks around after giving orders, he never has small talk with the rest of us, he just leaves.

Later on I gathered Machi and Feitan to discuss the plan, I told them what Chrollo told me. To my surprise, Machi wasn't pleased. "This is a death trap waiting to happen. If we can't use the front gate there are only two options I can come up with. We either have to scale the wall from another side, or we drop in on parachutes. Using option two could leave us open if we get caught in mid-air, if we can find a wall far back enough on one of the sides then we should have a better chance of not being seen."

Feitan was next to give his take on the plan. "If we go in the front gate they would know and we could draw them out faster, however, there's always a chance of them catching on before we get through. If we use the parachutes we can figure out the lay of the estate faster. We don't know where the butlers house even is or how many other houses there could be."

Both looked toward me and simultaneously said, "What do you think?"

For a moment I pondered on the options, both had pros and cons, to me, this was a 50/50 chance on both. "We climb the wall. There are rumors that it's supposed to be at the base of the mountain so we'll need to get far back on either the left or right side of the estate in order to gain access from the side. After that we split up and try and find the main house," I pulled out ear pieces with a microphone inside of it. "We'll use these to keep in contact with one another."

"Where did you get those" Machi said.

"I know people, don't worry about it too much."

- Nightfall -

Chrollo gave a speech to all of us one last time before we parted ways for our missions. "You all know your goals, work as one, never leave a spider behind" He turned away and walked off into the moonlight. The three of us took off for the airport to get to the Republic of Padokea, the rest took off for Yorknew City.

-3 Hours Later, 12:37am, Republic of Padokea, West Side Of The Zoldyck Estate-

"Machi, Feitan, once we're over the wall we'll need to cover as much ground as we can and find the main house, if you encounter anyone who isn't Silva then take them out. Once we get him to come out we need to get him to follow us about 5 miles south of here to where the boss is. Go."  The three of us scaled the wall and dropped down the the other side, it looked as if we had dropped down into a forest. "I'll head towards the base of the mountain. Machi, you head south toward the front gate to keep anyone out from that direction. Feitan, head east, the butlers house should be in that direction so keep them away." They nodded in agreement and took off.

I started running, a slight drizzle started to come down almost mist like. I had to have been running for 20 minutes with no sight of any house, I put my finger up to my ear and clicked the microphone button and stopped running. "Machi, Feitan, any sign?" ..... no response. "Machi, Feitan?" 'Fuck me' I thought to myself.

A few moment later Machi responded, "Rose, I'm assuming you could call this a rather large guard dog near the gate, I'm trying to catch him in my nen needles to get him out of the way. Have you heard anything from Feitan?"

"No. We'll have to assume he's dealing with the butlers or something else, focus on the goal." The rain started coming down like bullets, the water was getting in my eyes making it hard to fully see, the darkness didn't help either.

Then I noticed a presence not too far away from, it didn't feel strong. I started running toward it, soon I started to see light far in the distance. 'Yes!' I thought. Suddenly, there was a leak of bloodlust, it made me stop dead in my tracks. They started to conceal their presence and go in and out, it was as if they were circling me. I couldn't tell if it was one or many, they kept going in and out of Zetsu so tracking them was near to impossible. I decided to conceal my presence as well. Now I couldn't sense anyone around me, it was almost as if they had completely gone away. For the first time, I had completely underestimated the plan, a surge of bloodlust was being directed at me. I froze, my heart started to race, the rain was not only making it impossible to see but to also fully hear. Machi came through the ear piece, "Rose! You need to get out of there! I have Feitan, he's unconscious, we can't do this we ne-" the ear piece cut off. 'Fuck fuck fuck! I can't see or hear anything!'

"You're going to die" a male voice came out from the forest.

Multiple presences could be felt all around me, they were all incredibly strong. The one who spoke sounded young, possibly 20's? I didn't know which direction to run, they had me surrounded, one wrong move and I could end up dead. I stood my ground. "I'm here for Silva Zoldyck, he has business with my boss." A presence behind me began to move slightly. "I don't have use for the rest of you."

A woman to my left spoke this time, "I would be careful what you say my dear. Such harsh words."

I couldn't sense them once again, the rain was the only thing I could hear now. The next thing I saw was a man with black eyes right in front of me, I had no time to react by the time he lifted his leg to hit me. He sent me flying into a nearby tree, I could taste blood in my mouth. Him kicking me was enough to let me know that I couldn't overpower him. Using my ability was useless when I couldn't see or know where they were. I quickly got up and drew my knives while wiping the blood from the corner of my mouth. He started to go in and out of using Zetsu once again leaving me turning in circles trying to follow. Once again, he came into my sight except he was too fast for me to react to his movement, he punch me in the jaw and disappeared again. My vision was getting blurry, I felt as if I was starting to sway.

"Fuck this" I ran toward a nearby tree and used it to push myself into the air and used my blade barrage. As my knives lit up and were thrown into the forest I saw glimpses of them. A woman, a old man, a man I believed to be Silva, and the man with the black eyes. It was as if this was happening in slow motion as I was spinning. An instinct told me to look back at the woman, the last thing I saw was her raising her hand with something in it and the sound of what I thought to be a gunshot. My visions went black and my body collapsed to the wet ground, I tried to force myself to open my eyes or move to no avail, it was as if my body had locked up. A white noise was going through my head but I could barely hear their footsteps as they approached me.

"Illumi, finish her off dear" the woman said.

"Wait." A new voice, he sounded old. "Perhaps we could make use of her."

The woman started to freak out. "No! Don't say such things! We dispose of her this instant!"

"Calm yourself, Kikyo, I'm sure she could be a valuable asset to us with the right training."

Kikyo never said anything else.

"Illumi, take her to the chamber, you know what to do."

I wanted to scream but my body felt dead. I was now being dragged by the back of my collar through the mud, the white noise was getting louder in my head. I felt cold and alone, Machi and Feitan had left. 'They'll come back to get me' I thought. 'The boss wouldn't leave me here to die.'

That was my mistake.

- 5 Years Later -

"The Hunter Exam will now begin!"
