Song: 'Summertime Sadness' by Lana Del Rey
Why: Lana Del Rey. Queen of alternative music, queen of aesthetic. Also the queen of making people sad, let's be fair. Ok if we ignore the opening sentences, basically I think she's amazing. This song in particular is one of my personal favourites because it was one of the first songs I listened to from her.
About the song though, I love how it is exactly like its title. Sad, yet full of energy. It's my favourite song about summer (minus 'SUMMER by BROCKHAMPTON) and it is really well written.
Best Line:
'Telephone wires above are sizzlin' like a snare,
Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere,
Nothin' scares me anymore.'
Or
'Think I'll miss you forever,
Like the stars miss the sun in the mornin' sky.'
