Powers And Murder

Sorry for not posting it yesterday!

I looked at the wall, then at the ceiling. There was pure ice crawling up the wall, and icicles dangling from the ceiling. What? How did that happen?

"You... You sorcerer!" Lukina shouted at me. She turned and quickly flew out the door, locking it behind her.

I stumbled to the door, banging on it to try and open it. "Help!" I shouted, trying to get peoples attention.

But as I was punching my fists on the door, ice formed onto it. The ice left a giant splatter shape, like someone had splashed paint onto it.

I stared at my hands. Was I turning into a witch? No, that wasn't it. Maybe it had something to do with the castle?

I threw my hands up, and ice came out of my hands at every angle. I really liked this power, actually.

Suddenly, I heard a voice at the door:

"...And I think she's a wizard!"

The voice sounded familiar, it was Lukina. I didn't know who else she was with, but boy, I hope it wasn't my friends. They'd seriously be mad at me for ages, especially Gene.

When the door unlocked, I saw Lukina, along with the Grand Fairy and the Fairy Queen. I must've been in deep trouble.

"Ruby, please keep calm with what is happening, and come with us. Well explain everything," the Grand Fairy said, holding her hand out.

I thought for a moment. "No, go away!" I hesitated.

"Oh, just come on!" Lukina groaned, flying closer to me, "you're so pathetic!"

Lukina was about to touch me, but I stopped her by grabbing her arm.

Then she stopped. Her whole body stopped.

I had frozen her.

She looked like a statue of ice, perfectly sculpted. But, was she dead? Did I kill her? Was I a murderer? I hope I wasn't.

The Fairy Queen and the Grand Fairy all stared at the frozen fairy, mouths open with horror. Then they gazed at me, a selfish, cruel pirate who apparently had ice powers. I sure hope I'm not Elsa.

"What have you done?" The Fairy Queen gasped.

Moments later, all fairies, and my friends were in the throne room. An 'announcement' was being made by the queen and the Grand Fairy. No one knew what was going on, but I did. I knew that my friends would hate me after this, especially Twinkle. I've most probably killed her kind. The Grand Fairy brought out Lukina's frozen, blue body out for all people to see. I heard gasps, screams and mumbles from a couple of people. Then the Grand Fairy asked me to come up, in front of everyone. I did so.

My friends looked at me with the 'what have you done?' look. I gave them a weak smile. Then I looked at Lukina, the fairy I had just froze.

Why did I have to do it? Why did silly little words, hurt me all of a sudden?

The Fairy Queen then sat down on her throne. She cleared her throat. Everyone was silent. "Dear all," she started, "as you can see, Lukina," she nodded in the direction Lukina was in, "has been frozen. Now, the person who did this... It's not their fault..."

I started panicking. I didn't want her to say it was me. I'm practically a murderer right now.

The Grand Fairy flew over to me. She held both of my hands. "It will be okay," she said.

"Ruby," the queen said, looking at me.

I replied with a simple: "Yes?"

"I didn't want to tell you, the Grand Fairy never wanted to tell you. But... These powers... They aren't just powers you randomly got. You've had these all your life..."

"Excuse me, Queen," Twinkle interrupted, "I don't think she's had these 'powers' all her life. She's a pirate, not a witch or fairy."

The Grand Fairy then replied to Twinkle's comment;

"No one knows what we know about Ruby here. Apparently, she froze a pirate when she was younger in self defence. When Ruby was sleeping that night, her father took her to our castle, begging us to do something about her powers. So, the queen did a spell. This spell made Ruby forget she ever had powers." The Grand Fairy's voice was sounding a little painful then. Not as much pain as what I felt.

I was furious. How could they keep a secret that big from me? I felt like crying, but I didn't want to show my weakness to the fairies in room. I saw Twinkle. And my friends. They all had a pained look on their face.

"I'm so sorry..." I whispered to them. They probably didn't hear me, but they could probably lip read. Then I thought of something even worse than my sudden powers. "Will I be locked away for..." I had to clear my throat, it was too painful to say, "...killing a fairy?"

The Fairy Queen and the Grand Fairy shared a look, then the queen spoke up. "No, it was a complete accident. It was not your fault."

"Really?" Gene started. That was the first time I heard him talk in two days. Me and him had been quite distance for a few days. "So, she murdered a fairy and she doesn't get a punishment, at all?"

I glared at him, but the Grand Fairy stopped him from saying anything else. "I don't think you realise how big this is, Mr Know-it-all. Besides, Lukina will be just fine. We have spells for that kind of thing."

"Yeah, whatever," Gene grumbled.

Was he trying to end our friendship or something? Or was he angry with me because I froze a fairy? First, I did it by an accident, and second, this isn't his concern at all. Twinkle should be the one angry at me.

Alex decided to end our stay to the castle early.

It was very awkward when we got back to the Chameleon, a car thingy that Gene owned. Ah, speaking of Gene, he never even looked at me. He never said a word to anyone.

Actually, no one said a word to me. Not even Alien, which means I've made a giant mistake. But it's not my fault, at all. I never knew I was capable of turning people into solid sheets of ice.

"You okay, Twinkle?" I asked to my fairy friend, finally breaking the awkward silence.

She nodded.

"... Are you mad at me?" I thought I was being a bit annoying, but I desperately needed to know.

"Maybe you should just keep your mouth shut," Gene said sternly.

Alex glared at him. "Wow, Gene. Is this really her fault? Did she know she even had powers? Hey, why do you even care if she has any? You don't even believe magic is real!"

"Hey..." Twinkle finally spoke up, "how did you even get powers? And, if you've had them for such a long time, why didn't you find out about them a long time ago?"

My mind was blank. I didn't know at all what caused all this. Unless, if it was my real parents. No, my parents can't be THAT ridiculous, I thought. I finally spoke up to her questions, "I don't know."
