I woke up the next morning and I hear someone talking. She must be on the phone.
"Yeah... He's okay I guess... I was so worried..."
It was (Y/N) talking on the phone. She glances over at me and her eyes widen.
"Yeah Noah... He's awake... 'Kay bye... Love you...."
She ends the call. She holds my hand tight and smiles.
"Adam."
It hurts when I talk so I gave her a wave instead.
She hands me a paper and pencil.
"How are you doing?"
I scribble on the paper and hand it to her.
"Better, especially since you're here."
She looks at me and smirks.
"You're such a flirt."
She giggles and it makes my stomach flutter.
"You're parents are outside by the way."
I nod in response. I look at her closely and noticed that her face is slightly red and puffy.
I frown and wrote on the paper. I hand it to her.
"Have you been crying?"
She purses her lips in a straight line and nods.
"I was so worried about you."
I grab the paper and reply.
"You don't have to be. There are some people in my life who are special to me. You are one of them."
"Seeing you hurt sucks."
I reply.
"I know it does. However, seeing you worry that much over me is like a punch in the gut. It hurts so badly."
She gives me a sad smile.
"Okay, I won't worry that much because I believe in you."
My nurse comes in and tells us visiting hours are over.
"Bye Adam."
I give her a small wave as she leaves.
