Exams passed and Edelweiss was tipped of by the charm that she'd set in the 3 headed dog's room, for when someone visited him. So far it had only been Dumbledore, now it was someone else. She immediately went there in her animagus form, learning from a formerly sleeping dog that a man with a wrapped head and 3 children had passed through. She sent her Patronus, a silver fox, to Severus explaining what had happened and that Dumbledore was needed. She followed down and after passing the Devil's Snare that Professor Sprout had set up caught up to Harry, Hermione, and Ronald. They caught the key for the door and were moving on to the next room. She watched as they played the game of chess, and watched Ronald being flung from his horse in order to win the game and pass.
"He's going to sacrifice himself!" Harry shouted.
"No Ron, you can't! There must be another way." Hermione yelled at him and Edelweiss winced, she'd heal him immediately after, for the twins.
"Do you want to stop Snape or not? Harry it's you that's got to go on. I know it, not me, not Hermione, you." Harry reluctantly agreed and moved Ron's piece. Edelweiss realized that Harry and the others thought that Severus was the one responsible for the attempted theft of the stone.
"Knight to H-3." They watched as Ron was flung from his horse to the corner of the room. Edelweiss shifted back and charmed herself invisible, and pointed her wand at Ron's still form, while the other two finished the game.
"Brackium Emendo." Knowing that he would be fine after that she followed the pair through the next door, once they'd checked on Ron. Hermione made the decision to go back through the flames and Harry moved forward. Edelweiss realized that a spell could dispel the flames. "Depulso." The flames disappeared and Edelweiss grinned to herself, "You really do care Uncle Sev." She said, realizing her uncle had cast the flames so only one of Prince blood could dispel them. Entering the final room she found Quirrell and a stunned Harry,
"B-but that day, during the Quidditch match, Snape tried to kill me." Harry stuttered while Quirrell spoke unbroken sentences.
"No dear boy, I tried to kill you! And trust me if Snape's cloak hadn't caught and broken my eye contact, I would have succeeded. Even with Snape muttering his little counter-curse." Harry paled even further.
"Snape was trying to save me?" Edelweiss slipped in front of the mirror and watched as her own reflection slipped the stone into her pocket. She felt the weight of the stone in her real pocket, by then she heard a hissing voice. One that had given her nightmares, the one that haunted her memories, taking her family and torturing her. Voldemort.
"Use the boy." His voice whispered. She slipped into the back of the room, prepared to send a hex at Quirrell. Harry stepped in front of the mirror and Edelweiss conjured a false stone in his pocket, but Quirrell heard her whispered spell.
"Inanimatus Conjurus." Quirrell looked in her direction and muttered a spell,
"Homenum Revelio." Her invisibility spell and revealed her to them. "Curcio! Curcio! Curcio!" He shouted aiming at her. She countered the first curse but was blasted back by the second two. She screamed in pain as she hit the wall while Harry watched confused, he slowly made his way towards the exit. "Fulgari." He pointed his wand at Harry, who was immediately bound in bright ropes causing him to fall over. Quirrell walked over to him and took the stone out of his pocket. He watched as it dissolved, in his hand. Furious he released the ropes and grabbed him by the collar. "What have you done?" Harry grimaced,
"I didn't do anything." Harry said, reaching up and pushing Quirrell's face away from him. Quirrell screamed as his skin burned away and his body dissolved into black smoke the same way it did 10 years before.
