Haiku for Thomas

He who speaks few words

But says so much with his eyes

He’s given away

---

I still sit waiting

For him to join in my game

He has no interest

---

Plenty has been said

And there is still much to say

Who will be so brave?

---

This desire kills me

To want and not be wanted

Is there greater pain?

---

To empty my head

To erase all thoughts of you

Would I then find peace?

---

If I were purer,

If I could be kinder still,

Would he love me then?

---

I forget myself

And all I wanted to say

I’m lost in his eyes

---

To have and to hold

To become one and the same

Such is my desire

---

The softest feathers

Eyes that could lead me to sin

Some angels exist

---

I declared it all

Laid myself bare before you,

Such a gentleman

---

You spoke with anger

And I fell even deeper

I’m so very weak

---

My being was numb

My chest tight and constricted

When in your presence

 -----

You never cursed once,

To find such words aimed at me

Was satisfying

---

You belong to me

In dreams and fantasy

I keep you close there

---

Such an awful thrill

A desperate need for you

I am in pieces

---

I tease you and play,

Your cheeks blush beautifully

I now have purpose

---

I make him nervous
