Fifteen years ago...

Seokjin was never a kind man. Throughout his early childhood, he had shown signs of insanity, including that of beating his younger brother.

His parents constantly worried for their children. The way Seokjin beat his brother was not a brotherly fight siblings always have, rather, he would drag him to an empty room, tie him to a chair, and beat him senseless. Seokjin was always cold, unfeeling, and uncaring.

One day, while out at the park with Jungkook and his brother, a terrible accident occurred.

"Jinnie-hyung!" Seokjin's brother, while constantly being beat by his hyung, was always bright and never resented him for his actions. He was the perfect sibling.

"What?" snaps Seokjin, annoyed. He had been interrupted from his game of catch with Jungkook.

"Come play with me!" replies the younger, a Frisbee in hand. Seokjin groans and shoots a half-apologetic look to Jungkook.

"Fine." As his brother cheers, Seokjin grabs the Frisbee from his hand and motions for Jungkook to move towards their dongsaeng so that they could play together.

Now, one thing you should know is that behind Jungkook and Seokjin's dongsaeng was a steep downhill littered with rocks, trees, and boulders.

A dangerous play scape.

Especially when one of the players is very competitive.

Seokjin throws the Frisbee and it whirls towards the younger two at an alarming speed.

"I've got it, I've got it!" screams Jungkook. In his haste, Jungkook accidentally shoves his dongsaeng and the younger stumbles. Jungkook cheers as he catches the Frisbee while, unbeknownst to him, his younger friend trips over himself and goes tumbling over and down the hill.

Neither Seokjin nor Jungkook notice. That is, until the younger lets out a blood-curling shriek.

When the two run to look over the edge for the younger, it's too late. The youngest of the trio lies atop a large boulder, blood pouring from a wound on his head.

Jungkook screams.

"I have good news for you. He's going to live." Seokjin's parents, Beomsoo and Eun, both let out a sigh of relief. They share a glance and tentatively, Eun asks something of the surgeon that shared with them the wonderful information.

"Could you please keep this from Seokjin? If he asks, could you please tell him Jimin died?" The surgeon looks at them confusedly but nods nonetheless, not wanting to question a traumatized mother's wishes.

"Of course. I'll inform everyone on the team of this as well." Eun leans into Beomsoo with a grateful smile.

"Thank you."

From then on forward, Seokjin lived as an only child, never forgiving Jungkook for the so-called death of his younger brother, Jimin.

Present day...

"Jinnie-hyung?" Yoongi looks at Jimin funny.

"You know him? Why didn't you say earlier?" Yoongi goes unanswered as Jimin slowly approaches Seokjin. Seokjin, in turn, looks at Jimin confusedly as well.

"I'm sorry, do I know you?" Jimin startles, wondering why his brother no longer recognizes him before he realizes he still dons his mask. Shortly after the realization, Jimin rips off his mask and faces Seokjin.

"Remember me, hyung?"

Seokjin can do nothing but stare at Jimin, his jaw agape and his eyes wide.

"J-Jiminie?" Jimin lets a faint, hopeful smile grace his face.

"Yeah, it's me, hyung." Seokjin lets out a choked sob.

"Y-You're supposed to be..."

"Dead? Yeah, I know."

"But... how?"

"After... that day, eomma and appa sent me to live with Aunt Haewon. They were..."

"Scared of me?" For the first time, Seokjin's eyes show a hint of softness. Jimin's eyes convey sympathy.

"Yeah." Seokjin hesitantly crawls off of his cot and approaches Jimin. Yoongi eyes him suspiciously while Jimin tells him it's alright. Seokjin sets his hands on Jimin's shoulders firmly. His body shakes as he struggles to hold in his tears.

"I'm so, so, sorry, Jimin. I'm better, I swear, I'm better!" At this, Seokjin collapses into Jimin, clutching the younger's shirt, sobbing hysterically.

The moment would be sweet if Yoongi wasn't there glaring daggers into Seokjin's back.

"Alright, that's enough," he says before forcing the two long-lost brothers apart. "He's probably just manipulating you, Chim." Yoongi whips out a small dagger from his belt, the same one he used to kill Lee Changhyun and many other unfortunate victims before him. "It's best if I kill him now." Slowly, Yoongi begins to approach Seokjin as the man in question starts backing away, hands up in surrender.

"Wait, Yoongi-hyung!" screams Jimin, who latches onto Yoongi's arm as he speaks. "Please, he's my brother! I haven't seen him in fifteen years, Yoongi-hyung! Please, I'm begging you, please understand! Don't kill him. I-I'll do anything! Anything!" Yoongi pauses in his advance and turns to face Jimin.

The younger had never shown this much emotion towards something before, as least as far as Yoongi is concerned. And never, never, has Yoongi ever seen Jimin cry or beg for him something.

Jimin's always been loyal.

Maybe it's the least he can do.

Slowly, with a sigh, Yoongi pockets his dagger and steps away from Seokjin, who lets out a sigh of relief.

"Fine. But you're responsible for his actions from here on out." Jimin is quick to nod. With a grateful smile, he thanks Yoongi.

"Don't thank me. If he screws up one more time..." Yoongi makes eye contact with both Jimin and Seokjin in turn. "You're both paying." Jimin breaks out into a smile.

"Yes, of course, hyung!" Then, unexpectedly, Jimin launches out and latches onto Yoongi in a koala hug. Yoongi stumbles slightly but eventually wraps his arms around Jimin's smaller figure with a content smile on his face.

For a moment, he forgets about Jungkook, his worries washed away.

If only Jungkook were here.

But for now, he supposes he can live with this.
