The final bell rang and I made my way to my car. As I was pulling out of my parking space, Dexter tapped on my window.

"What?!"

"Don't forget to be at my house 5 o'clock sharp."

"For God's sake! I don't have a memory of a fish. I will be there." I said getting quite frustrated.

He just winked and walked away. Lord save me.

4:58 pm

I was the only one home because Vanessa hadn't got back from cheer tryouts yet, so I grabbed my keys and made my way to Dexter's house.

I knocked and patiently waited for someone to open the door. Unfortunately that person was Dexter.

He glanced at his watch then looked up at me smirking.

"Your eager, 1 minute early"

"Wow, one minute, big difference." I replied sarcastically and pushed my way past him, walking towards the staircase to go to his room.

"Excuse? Who gave you the permission to barge into my house?" he asked.

I raised my eyebrow at him. "The last time I checked you barge into my house almost everyday."

He rolled his eyes and followed me upstairs. I knew my way around his house pretty well because are parents were close friends, so sometimes we had dinner together.

There was no sound around the house, so I guessed that his parents weren't back from work yet. I didn't exactly feel comfortable being the only person in the house with him because he could murder me and no one would come to my rescue.
"Are you even listening to me?" Dexter asked interrupting my thoughts.

"Nope, sorry."

"I said do you have any ideas about the modern Romeo & Juliet we are supposed to be working on."

"Well, I was thinking we could set it in New York and to represent the two families we could have rival gangs."

"Very wise ideas, little one." he replied

"I'm not that short you know." I huffed angrily.

"Of course your not."

We worked for about an hour, coming up with new ideas non stop. To be honest I think we make a great team. By the time we stopped working, we had already nearly half the script done.

"Are you hungry?" Dexter asked me after we packed away all our notes.

I nodded eagerly and he motioned for me to follow him downstairs. He made us some mac n cheese and sat down opposite me on the island in their kitchen. He chuckled as he watched me shove spoonfuls into my mouth.

"Your the first girl I've met that doesn't care about how she eats in front of boys."

"Boys can go screw themselves. If i'm hungry then I will eat however the fuck I want."

I finished my food pretty quickly and thanked Dexter for it.

"I heading off now so I will see you tomorrow.

"Your gonna leave me all by myself in this big house?" he questioned pretending to look scared.

"Yes, now bye."

I shut the door behind me and crossed the road to my house. I opened the door and Vanessa walked into the corridor.

"What were you doing at Dexter's house?"

Uh oh.

"We are partners for the Romeo and Juliet project." I answered, crossing my fingers she wouldn't get annoyed.

"Oh cool. Good luck with it." she said simply and walked back into the front room.
