The consecutive typing of some sort jolted me awake. I looked around and it was pitch black. I felt around a little bit and tired to stand up. I was being held down by something. I started to freak out a bit and began squirming where I was held. A warm hand grabbed my hand and began talking to me. It took a minute for the voice to register in my mind.
“Ashton?” I managed to mumble
“Yeah Jace, It’s Ash. Are you okay?”
“I-I- I’m fine. Where are we?”
“We’re in my car J” He said turning on the overhead light.
Ok so this made more sense now. I was in the backseat of his car with a bunch of his band stuff, so that explained why I was confined in a small space and he had buckled me in so that was why I couldn’t get up.
“Do you remember anything?” He asked after a short silence
“We we’re supposed to eat and then Luke never showed up….OH MY GOD LUKE!” It all came together and I began unbuckling myself. Before Ashton could hold me back I began running from the parking lot into the hospital. The automatic doors opened revealing Berkeley, Calum who had changed into a sweatshirt, Michael who was bit more calm, and an older lady who has some similar features to Luke.
The second I walked in Berkeley came over to me and brought me to the others. Both Calum and Michael looked at me and said nothing.
“Calum why were you covered in blood?” I whispered so only he could hear.
“Do you want to know the real reason or are you just trying to distract yourself?” He whispered back
“Both. Please tell me you tripped on a saw or something because if you were in that car I swear Cal –“
“Hi, you must be Jaycee. I’m Liz Luke’s mom” the older lady asked standing in front of me.
I know it was weird that me and Luke had been dating for almost two months and I had never met his parents but the whole idea of “Jaycee and Luke” was still a little weird to most people.
“Uh Yeah. How’d you know?” I asked standing up
“Luke hasn’t stopped talking about you, and I knew it wasn’t this young lady” she motioned to Berkeley “Because she is our neighbor” Liz laughed and brought us over to a secluded area.
Ashton had made his way in and taken the seat next to Berkeley, hugging her and letting out a big sigh.
“I’m terribly sorry to be meeting you like this”
“Well Luke has wanted us to meet you for a while but he did mention you have a lot going on right now”
“Just some personal issues. Nothing to worry about”
“Sweetie if you ever want to talk – “
