"Patton, my dear boy, won't you come here for a second? It is time."
Roman watched as the chipper prince he had met solemnly walked over to his mother, taking a long lance from her. The staff was a pokished mahogony studded with some sort of blue gem along the area where the spearhead was welded on. The blade itself seemed to be made of silver, just as the Granate Rubí was. Patton took the weapon in his hands, frowning as he stared at it. Then he shifted it in his hands, favoring his left over right. The queen returned her attention to the Romanian duo as her son fiddled with the weapon behind her.
"This is the Serendipity Legendary Weapon: Topacio Zafiro. This Naginata will ensure that you have the strength of our kingdom by your side. The divine weapon was created by the gods and the ancestors of the Quattour Regna before us to keep peace. With every weapon in set, a rite can be bestowed upon the four crown nobles of each land. The rite gives those four the strength to vanquish any foe, no matter who that may be."
Roman glanced back at Valerie, who had taken the sword out of Roman's scabbard. The king hadn't bothered to strip Roman of the Royal sword. That means they might just have a chance of restoring the rite that Queen Brittney had just bestowed knowledge upon them. Valerie handed the blade to Roman and pushed him towards Prince Patton and Queen Brittney. He approached the two, gaining their full attention, and showed them the sword. The queen nodded, smiling. She had optimism that this world can be saved. Patton didn't stare at the sword, he stared at Roman instead.
"Miss, I carry the second of the four weapons. What must I do to ridden the continent of this threat? Please..."
Shame overflowed his chest. Valerie stood by, watching him. Roman was so pitiful, wasn't he? He rose when he felt the blade being taken from his hands. The queen analyzed it, making sure it was legit. Patton set his weapon down and walked up towards him with open arms. He was asking for a hug. Roman was confused, but complied. He was small, and his chest felt a more pleasant warmth. Patton then began to soothe him as If he could sense his inner pain.
"Your aura shows deep trauma inflicted upon your soul. I am so sorry for whatever you had witnessed. I'm sorry for how you have been treated recently. Catastrophe struck and you were thrown into it without consent. You and your lovely friend both. You both need hugs."
He was too pure. Roman let him go and he flashed him a smile before the smaller prince walked around Roman and went to go comfort Valerie. The queen returned Roman his sword. She didn't say anything, she just nodded and ushered him to go to the others in his group. Valerie refused the hug and Patton was pouting, but he respected her wish not to receive physical affection. Roman returned to them and had his sword seethed once more, Patton's Lance held behind him and Valerie fiddling with her knife in her right hand. Valerie began speaking as soon as Roman was standing before her.
"Roman, I suggest we leave as soon as possible. We shall leave Leo, Joan, and Talyn to help evacuate the kingdom before having them meet us in Galactica. However, I completely understand if you want to ensure the evacuation yourself or want to bring Joan along. I know how much they mean to you."
Valerie made a valid point. Before Roman could think further, Patton began talking.
"My people are simple. They are a kindred and generous group. If this villain is as ruthless as you say, then I want my people to not even see them. We need to get them sheltered far into galactica and we need to stand our ground here in Serendipity. But as Miss Valerie had told me, we have no idea where this fiend is now or how long it will take them to get here. We have to visit both Galactica and Transylvania to retrieve both crown monarchs and divine weapons so we can have the strength to defeat this villain. The evacuation must be now and we must depart now. Safety comes first, Andy their safety comes with our speed. I refuse to let anyone die."
Roman stared at Patton, his face determined and serious. Valerie's nodded in agreement, ready to depart right here and now while the two other Serendipity monarchs take care of this. Roman felt his heart skip a beat. This is the wrong time for romance, however he couldn't help himself. This smal Prince was adorable, cheerful, and headstrong. He knew exactly what to do and Roman wanted to follow in his lead.
"Then we must inform the others of our plan. Action starts now."
Roman hadn't said a word and it was decided. Valerie turned on her heel and walked out the doors to inform Joan of what was happening while Patton stayed behind. He looked over at Roman, who was clenching his fists and shaking. War, fighting, genocide, mass manslaughter... this ruthless person must be stopped. He must atone for his sin of cowardice and sloth and he must take this villain down before all of Orbis is destroyed. He then felt something cool and slick enter his fists breaking it apart like scientific weathering. Patton was holding his hand. He squeezed it lightly. Roman's gaze never broke from the ground.
"Hey, it's going to be okay. I promise."
No it's not.
