So sorry for the late update, I know this has seemed to become my persona lately, but I really do try to do better! Anyway, here's the next chapter!

Keith was lying in bed, still thinking about the night he had with Lance. The kiss they shared was the highlight of his last few months. True, they've kissed before, but that kiss was just...amazing. They all were! The kiss that night, though...it was kiss shared between two lovers who had become closer, who had now a stronger understanding of each other.

Keith smiled and touched his lips, the icy chill from Lance still lingering. Keith couldn't believe he had gained such an amazing, perfect boyfriend. If you had asked Keith years ago, back when he was at the garrison, if he had feelings for Lance, he would have laughed in your face. Feelings? He didn't even like Lance back then. He thought he was one of the most ignorant, arrogant, dumb people he'd ever had the chance to encounter. Oh, how wrong he was. Now...Keith would give anything for just a peck from him.

Lance ; the kindest, apart from Hunk, human being Keith knew. Lance was sweet, smart, pretty...the whole package deal. Lance could make Keith smile at any time or point in the day. Lance could cheer Keith up on his worst days, and to think they only got together because of something terrible that happened to him. Those times in his life were awful, some of the worst...and yet? He wouldn't change them for the world. Because without them, Keith wouldn't have Lance, and Lance was everything to Keith. Lances eyes sparkled whenever he talked about something that he loved. The ocean has sun fairies that dance across the waves and Lances eyes mirror that. Though his eyes a light blue, you could see the deep abyss of the ocean inside of them. Lance held so much emotion inside of him, all unique in their own way, it was a miracle he didn't pop from the mere amount. Keith certainly didn't feel things as strongly as Lance. Maybe that would change as they continued to get closer. But for now, Keith was just happy watching them from the Lances eyes.

Keith started drifting to sleep, a smile still playing on his lips. Keith fell into a deep sleep, but still, the nightmares came.

Keith is dragged from his sell, this being the first time out of it since thrown inside. He couldn't stand on his own, hence the guards dragging him. Keith would be happy to walk on his own, but the amount of pain he was in from the torture prevented him from doing so. Keith's head lay on his chest, he was too tired to try and see where they were taking him. And frankly? He didn't care. Keith was just so exhausted that he didn't have much spirit left to fight with. Keith cursed himself for thinking that way. They would come, the Paladins, his family. They would come, he knew it to be true. It may take time, but there was no doubt in his mind. Keith was dragged through a large set of doors. Screams- no, cheers reached his ears. Keith lifted his enough to look around. An arena. He was being dragged onto an arena. Except, no competitors were there to challenge. Keith was roughly pulled along until they reached the center of the arena. There awaited a lump of wood embedded in the ground and chains attached to it. They threw him on the ground and put the chains on him. More cheers commenced as Zarkon approached him from behind. Then, his voice rang out through the stadium. "This," He said, glaring down at Keith. "Is a gift to you all. Keith, here, is a Paladin of Voltron." Zarkon paused for angry shouts that started, Keith hearing them from all angles. "To atone for the trouble he's caused us, I've brought him here today, here for you, to publicly whip him before your very eyes!" Zarkon said with amusement. The angry shouts turned to joyous screams, all excited for the scene that was to partake in front of them. Keith simply stared at the ground, feeling too empty to process what was happening. It wasn't until he felt the all-too-familiar burning pain of a whip connecting with his back that he understood. Zarkon was humiliating him. A Paladin of Voltron, Keith, was weak. He allowed himself to be captured, to be tortured beyond reason. He allowed this to happen, he was pathetic.

Keith woke up to someone shaking him. Turning over on his side to see who it was, he shouldn't have been surprised it was Lance. "Hey, sleepy head." He said, a worried look plastered on his face. "Are you okay? You were violently shaking, and sweating. Bad dream?" Lance guessed. Keith only nodded, all the strength he had gone from his limbs. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Not yet." Keith said. He gave Lance a smile. "Thanks."

"Anytime." Lance said, smiling. Keith immediately felt happier. That smile could light candles it was so warm and shone so bright. Keith got lost in the picture of Lances smiling face, the pure euphoria he felt taking hold of his sanity and tossing it out his brain. Keith loved Lance. "Hey! Silly, you spaced out. What were you thinking about?" Lance said, shaking Keith once again to get hold of his attention. Keith looked at Lance and chuckled, standing up from where he had been sleeping only moments ago.

"Nothing." Keith said, leaving the room, still laughing in joy.

"Doesn't seem like nothing to me." Lance mumbled, catching up to Keith and walking side by side. Lance glanced at Keith before grabbing hold of his hand. Keith looked down at their intertwined hands, loving the feeling of Lances hand in his. The slight bite of cold giving relief to the heat that he always felt, the heat that never went away. Keith was always told it was because he was hot headed.

"I was just laughing at you." Keith clarified. Lance pouted.

"At me?" Lance asked carefully, uncertainty displayed in his features.

"Not like what you're thinking. I'm laughing at how happy you make me."

"Why is that funny?" Lance asked in confusion, unsure of what Keith was getting at.

"I've never been much of a happy person, you know that. But when you smile you can light up my whole day, make everything better. It's just funny to me how that works. A lone wolf like me taking pleasure in someone as quirky as you. I love it. I love you." Keith said.

Lance stared at Keith in shock. Did he really feel that way? Or was he just speaking sweet nothings? "Keith..." Lance trailed off, suddenly speechless. Something he hadn't been in a long time. In was refreshing, but also frightening. Could Keith really silence him, take away his voice, with just a few words? No, he shouldn't think of it like that. The sheer serendipity of the situation sunk in, and Lance looked at what just happened differently.

Keith didn't rip his voice away, he simply gave him the gift of being content, calm. Keith showed him what it was like to be happy, what it was like to be confident in ones self. In that moment, all of Lances many insecurities just...washed away. They disappeared. Gone. And Keith did that. Keith, his boyfriend, his someone special, just did that for him. He erased the storm to only leave this serene feeling, one that Lance hoped to feel more often, one he knew he would.

It was only 8:00A.M. and already, both felt an extreme amount of love for the other. As they stared at each other, they shared, for the first time, a saying that would be with them for a very long time to come.

"I love you more than yesterday, but not more than tomorrow." - BTS
