Kaminari and Sero screamed as a giant dinosaur-bat-demon-thing swooped down from above onto them. Sero immediately ducked down and avoided it's claws, but Kaminari wasn't as fortunate.

It was huge, scaly, and had bat-wings; not only that, but it's snout was too long to be a bat's; but on the contrary, it had bat ears. Therefore, some dinosaur-bat-demon-thing.

It's talons latched onto Kaminari's unexpecting shoulders and the creature began to fly off with him.

Kaminari thrashed in it's grasp, fumbling for a knife to defend himself with, maybe if he stabbed the thing it would drop him; but in the end, since the creature had a hold on his shoulders, Kaminari could not reach any of his weapons.

Sero, after being frozen in fear for a couple of seconds, took out his kursarigama and swung it at the creature. He missed.

The creature flew farther and farther away with the struggling Kaminari. Sero's panic grew and grew; when suddenly he realized that if he was too frantic, he wasn't going to hit the creature. If his mind was clouded, he would miss.

Sero took a deep, shuddering breath. His eyes locked onto one of the creature's legs. Sero swung his kusarigama around once, twice, and then swung it at the creature.

It shot forward with a deadly accuracy, capturing the creature's leg in its inescapable grasp. The scythe part of the kusarigama stabbed into the creature's leg.

With a bat-like screech, the creature began to fly higher in an attempt to free itself.

On one hand, the kusarigama would not let go unless Sero willed it to. On the other hand, the creature was physically stronger than Sero.

As it flew upwards, Sero was pulled off the group and into the sky. Luckily, Sero wasn't much of an acrophobe; and even if he was, he was too focused on saving Kaminari to care.

He began to climb up his kusarigama's chain, hand over hand, wrapping it around his arm as he went. It took him a little more effort than he would have liked, but he finally reached Kaminari.

"Sero!!", Kaminari cried,"You're a lifesaver, dude!! Literally!!"

Sero rolled his eyes,"Yeah, but once I get this thing to drop us, where are we going to land?!"

"Um...", Kaminari looked around a little fearfully,"Oh!! Look; that river up ahead!!!"

Sero peeked out from behind the creature's leg, which he was holding onto, and saw the river. At the rate they were going, the creature would fly right over it. They could drop down into it and be fine.

"Wait...", Sero paused,"What if it's only, like, a foot deep?!"

"Well our options are just a little bit limited, Sero!!"

"I hate to gamble, but oh well...", Sero sighed in defeat and said,"Alright...NOW!"

Sero slashed the creature's legs melee style with his kusarigama, causing it to cry out in pain. It dropped Kaminari instantly, and Sero let go of it's leg and fell downwards with him.

"OH NO OH NO SERO I REGRET EVERYTHING THIS WAS A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE IDEA!!", Kaminari was yelling over the wind, his face an expression of pure terror as he dropped.

"JUST ANGLE YOURSELF ABOVE THE RIVER!! IT'LL BE FINE!!!"

As the two continued to fall, the river rapidly growing in perspective size, Sero realized that the river would actually be quite deep based on the color. Good. Now they just had to land in it.

Sero looked up to notice Kaminari drifting off too far to one side. If he hit the shore even just a little; well, he'd either die or whatever hit the shore wouldn't be feeling to good.
