CAM’S POV

“Don’t act dumb! I heard you talking to Sky about me! ‘Why would I like her?’” I froze. She heard that? How? “You heard that?” she said “Yeah I heard that.” I opened my mouth to explain but I was rendered speechless. “Get out, Cameron.” I looked at her wondering why she was so mad about me saying that. “Get. Out. Cameron.” She said through gritted teeth. I knew better than to mess with an angry Soph so I trudged out of the room and into mine. As I walked into my room I forgot that I had no pillows or blanket so I had to go back to the living room. Sky and Harry were passed out using my blanket so I decided to take Harry’s blanket. I was walking back to my room when I heard sobs coming from Soph’s room. Did I cause this? ‘Of course you did, jerk! You caused your princess to cry, are you happy?’ my conscious was yelling at me. I frowned walking closer to her room. My hand reached out to twist the doorknob but before I could open the door, it swung open to reveal a red puffy eyed Soph. She looked up at me with broken, fragile eyes. ‘Should I hug her or leave her be?’ “Are you ok?” She shook her head but kept my gaze. “I’m hurt.” Was she physically or emotionally hurt? “I’m sorry.” Soph just kept shaking her head. “I don’t think you are. I get it. I’m just your best friend’s little sister. If that’s all I am to you then please, don’t lead me on.” I blinked twice. “What do you mean?” “During the scary part, when I put my head in your chest you said ‘You’re safe with me, Princess’ as you put your arm around me.” “I was just trying to make you feel protected.” She sighed and said “I know, but I get the wrong idea.” “Then why are you blaming me?!” she flinched at my raised voice. She stepped back saying “Your right, let’s just act like we are complete strangers so that I won’t get the wrong idea and you won’t have to deal with my obscured misinterpretations.”
