Keith POV

"And do you really have everything you need?", Mum asked anxiously and caressed my cheek, trying to hold back her tears.

"Yes, I do! There is no need for you to be concerned about me. I'm already 17!", I calmed her down and removed her hand from my cheek. I smiled at her and looked behind me, where the other students were starting to get into the long red bus.

"Do you really need to go?", Mum asked with a pained voice. My heart stung on the left side. Of course, I didn't want to go. It was a horrible thought of leaving my Mum home all alone with no one at her side in case she needed help. But instead of telling her how I truly felt, I told her I would want to go anyway and smiled. If I couldn't at least do that, then Mum would have gotten even more worried and wouldn't have let me go.

She sobbed and hugged me one last time. "I wish you good luck in your first year! Don't forget how proud of you I am and how glad that I have you as a son."

I brought some distance between us and snickered. "I'm your only son." We both laughed a good few seconds. I looked over to the bus, where only a few students were left. "I should go.", I noticed and seized my suitcase. "Don't do anything stupid or dangerous while I'm away. And don't forget to feed Cosmos. He doesn't like it when he doesn't get his food. Oh, and the plants have to be-"

"Keith, honey, calm down. Do you know how long I've had to take care of myself after your father passed away? Long enough, to know what I have to do myself. I'm going to be fine.", she reassured me and pushed me towards the bus. "Now go, or you'll miss your chance."

I smiled thankfully and stormed to the bus. The driver was waiting impatiently at the door for me to get in. I stuffed my suitcase into the side of the bus and excused myself as I dash up the steps.

A huge wall of screams and laughter welcomed me into the bus. Surprisingly, it wasn't as narrow inside the bus than it looked from the outside. Though the seats were still very close to each other. I plowed myself through all of the bags and pillows lying in the middle of the way until I finally reached the back.

I sit down powerfully on one of the seats and to catch my breath. I never thought it could be this suffocating being in a bus packed with teenagers in the worst stadium of puberty. The bus rumpled a bit and realized that we were flew off.

I slipped out of my backpack, took out my earbuds and put them in, blasting music of my favorite band in my ears: 'My Chemical Romance'.

After a few minutes of demolishing my ears, someone tipped my shoulders. I reluctantly paused my music and looked at them. "What?", I asked unfriendly and froze. Hair as brown as wood, shimmering in the dim light of the bus, a smile with teeth as white as a blank piece of paper, smiling and eyes as blue as the ocean piercing at me. I almost reflexively closed my eyes. Handsome.

"Hey!", he grinned. His voice was deep and seductive and sent multiple shivers down my spine. Sexy.

"Hi.", I said but didn't smile back.

"What are you listening to?", he asked and moved closer. I instinctively moved back. The guy frowned and looked at me confused. "Sorry, I didn't want to invade your comfort zone.", he apologized.

I immediately shot back. "You were not invading anything! I'm just not used to people I don't know coming close to me."

"Oh, then let me introduce myself." His smiling side was back again. "I'm Lance McClain! Nice to meet you!" He stretched out his hand and I grabbed it. Warmth spread through my fingers. "I'm Keith Kogane. Nice to meet you too."
