Chapter 4

Flashback
We were going over to our favourite little restaurant not far from my apartment. Everything seemed fine except something was bugging me - Daniel. He seemed a bit off ever since we first met this morning.

M- are you sure you are okay?

He nods not saying a word. Usually Daniel talks ,  if something is wrong I'm the first he goes to but this felt different , he seemed more distant, like I was just his bandmates sister and not his girlfriend of 2 years or even his friend/ classmate of 12 years. I decided to ignore this feeling , he wasn't talking and I'm not the type to pressure anyone into telling me something they don't want to.

We got to the restaurant and were seated at our little corner , by the window with the fairy lights but he wouldn't take his eyes it his phone , it's like he was waiting for something or someone.

M-*clears throat*
D- so how's school?
M- great and that's the hundredth time you asked
D- that's good , yeah.

Clearly he wasn't paying attention nor was he interested in talking to me. It with was weird and no matter how much I tried to shake it off , the feeling that something was wrong or that something bad will happen just kept replaying in my mind.

M- Daniel?
D- whatever you want!
M- okay...well I'm going to the restroom
D- sure that's sounds nice

I nod my head silently and make the way to the restroom. Where I take my phone and texts Gabbie , unfortunately there was no reply meaning she's with Jonah having a good time unlike me.

I return back to the table and surprisingly our food was there, Daniel still on his phone though.

M- you ordered?

He nods , finally putting the phone away.

D- you went somewhere and the waiter came by so I ordered the usual
M- thanks

We both start eating and I guess talk , it was awkward and nothing like the usual us - we'd talk and laugh but not today , today he's only making small talk.

After we were done , we were heading to where our Uber was waiting. It had started raining so he was rushing to get into the Uber. I on the other hand took my time.

D- hurry up!
M- I'm coming!
D- ugh
M- what's your problem?

He stops suddenly , making me bump into him, he turns around to face me but avoids eye contact.

D- here's the thing , our band is becoming big and well I have less and less time...
M- yeah I know and I'm happy for you
D- listen , this long distance isn't working for me
M- what?
D- I just don't have time and we going to Europe and then Asia soon
M- oh...

So here we were standing in the rain , it was getting dark and my heart was breaking into million pieces.

D- sorry but I think it's for the better

That's when it hit me , he has been texting someone all night.

M- did you cheat?
D- what? No!
M- Daniel, I know you were texting someone
D- okay , yes but I didn't cheat , I just think we should also see other people who aren't on the other side of the country
M- wow

Tears start building up in my eyes , he is willing to ruin what we have just because he wants to hook up with other girls and blame it all on his career , long distance didn't seem to be a problem with Jonah and Gabbie or even Corbyn and his Girlfriend Christina but for him it was.

D- Morgan say something!
M- get the fuck out of my life!

I turn around , couldn't bare to see him any longer.

D- fine!

I hear the Uber door slam and drive off. I am left alone in the rain 2 blocks down from my apartment.

???- Morgan? Morgan?

Back to present day

Jo- Morgan? Earth back to Morgan?

I look at my door to see Jonah standing there with my bags...

M- oh hey...
