....guys, I love love. I've never been in love, but I love it. I love seeing people down the street in love, I love people who are oblivious to the love around them, I just love it. And I am a huge Disney fan, so of course, I believe in love at first sight.
But, when you think about it, love at first sight is more like, love at first 'damn, you have one sexy face.' It might seem shallow, but it's true. It's not called 'Love at First Personality' It's 'Love at First Sight.' You see the person, they appeal to you, voila.
In some cases, it grows. This attraction to their looks grows into something more as you get to know them. It's beautiful, I love it, but what really gets me is when I read something where the ENTIRE BOOK is about someone's looks. NO PERSONALITY AT ALL! JUST LOOKS.
Are you kidding me right now?
Seriously?
An entire book dedicated to their love and all they can talk about are how hot their body is and how soul-sucking their 'orbs' are. Orbs. I know. EYES, people. THEY'RE EYES! JUST SAYING FREAKING EYES! ORBS ARE THINGS THAT WITCHES AND SEERS USE TO SEE COOL STUFF! STOP SAYING IT!
Breathe. Sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone, but come on. How hot can one person be? And how shallow is your character if they can't even talk about the person's other qualities?
Look, I'm not saying don't talk about the attractiveness of a character. If the male has one fine ass, mention the ass. Talking about it's roundness, but for the love of chocolate, do not make the one reason the characters' are in love be because of that ass; no matter how fine it may be.
The thing is, it's not anyone's fault. I see this stuff in published books and I'm like, "No."
All I'm saying is that love is more than someone's looks. It's their humour and their kindness and how they make you feel and if they make you a better person. Anything to do with their looks is merely an add on.
And seriously, DO NOT MAKE THEM FALL IN LOVE IN A DAY! OR EVEN A WEEK! NO! Unless they're under a spell, it is not realistic. I have two different friends, okay? They're both dating someone. One of them said 'I love you' after a week, another after three months. You know who wasn't really in love and ended up breaking up a week later? Have a guess.
It's fine to believe in falling in love in a day. Hey, Disney pulls it off well! Rapunzel and Flynn Rider (he is one fine Disney character) are the perfect example of this. This is Disney, though guys. Not some bad boy at your school who has been bullying you for an eternity and suddenly, when you have a makeover, he's in love with you.
I'm saving the makeover rant for another day.
Sorry if I offended anyone!
