Chapter 1
Jake… Jake was my best friend until he moved all the way to England without saying a goodbye, my world darkened because of him. I still smiled but my heart had a huge hole in the middle waiting for his sorry. I have other friends but he was my childhood friend and he was there for me most of the time, who knew one day, something might actually break us apart.
Going back to the memories is just intense anger and the emotions inside of me just comes out to strangers which is the one thing I hate about myself, I just can’t keep my emotions inside of me for long, it just comes out and I wouldn’t be aware of it.
It was a year after he moved without telling me and I hadn’t kept in touch with him since. He doesn’t deserve the calls or the e-mails I sent him after I found out he moved.
I put on my red jeans and colorful stripped top and braided my hair into a side braid and I was ready to go with a black ballet flats. I grabbed my brown leathered messenger bag and kissed my mom and dad on the cheek before I left for the door.
It was a 5 min walk to the bus and I usually meet Jake there. I sigh at the thought of Jake. I shook my head and concentrated on walking there.
I saw Abby already at the bus stop waving at me. She was my best friend who didn’t actually replace… She was my best friend since Jake introduced us in year 5. Memories, memories…
Walking to Abby made me miss Jake more, I don’t know why but it just does.
“Hey Abby” I greeted her with a normal smile and stood beside her as she blabbed her whole life story.
“Are you listening Katelyn?” Abby asked as she looked at me as I daydreamed about stupid, unbelievable things.
The bus came just in time before I could answer Abby and that was a close call for me because if I got into trouble with Abby she would blab about it for the whole day which means my ears will be deaf by then since she had that perky and high-pitched voice which annoys me.
I walked to my locker with Abby following me beside and still talking. I unlocked my locker and pulled out the books I needed for first period which was English.
Me and Abby got to our separated ways and as I was walking to my English class, the guy in the football team was running like a lightning bolt and he pushed me aside making me unbalanced. He reached out a hand as I stared into his deep blue dreamy eyes. He looked cute and gorgeous with the golden ‘Justin Bieber’ hair. I reached out for his hand and got up and picked up my bag and books.
“I’m so sorry, I was chasing my friend and he…” He said pointing at his friend.
“It’s ok, don’t need the full story, I’m fine.” I interrupted and I turned and walked but he cut my road.
“I’m Cody.” He said with a smile.
“Katelyn.” I introduced myself as I walked towards the classroom.
“I’ll see around Katelyn” He said grinning ad waving while I walked away.
I laughed at him when he was out of my sight; he was really sweet but who knows, they might pretend and then in the end, they’ll stab you in the back and leave. I guess I’m just being too emotional again.
