A month later .,
I've been so excited helping Layla plan for the wedding, we were currently sitting at the house with cocktails discussing wedding colors and her date.
"Tiffany girl I'm still in awe I can't believe he actually purposed I thought for sure that you and Dave would be first ." I continued to sip my cocktail.
"Yeah me too , but things happen I seen Jasmine posted a picture of a ring earlier today they look like they are doing pretty good." Layla was getting ready to say something when a knock came at the door. I opened to see Dave and a sleeping DJ.
"I see you guys had a good time ." I said taking DJ from Dave and laying him on the couch .
"Alright girl , Nipsey texting me so imma head out imma see you guys later ." Layla said heading out the door.
"You want anything to drink or anything ?" I said walking to the kitchen.
"Look Tiff I know you trying to avoid asking me , but I can tell you now no it wasn't an engagement ring it was a promise ring ." I took a breath that I didn't even know I was holding , I thought him saying that would make me feel better but it didn't.
"If that's who you want to marry that's you love , as long as she gets along with DJ I'm all good." I said with my back turned to Dave. He came up behind me hugging me.
"If I ever thought of marrying her I would consult you first , I haven't thought about marrying any other girl except you." I shook my head.
"Yeah but she has a better chance than I do , I might as well just give up and maybe open some of my dm's" I said laughing .
Dave looked at me crazy . "Nahhhh you not fixing to have no dude around my kid." I just stared at him.
"And why not you got that bitch around DJ day in and out, and do I say anything no I encourage the relationship because I want you happy , why can't you want the same for me?"
"Because I said so , don't have no niggas around my damn child Tiffany." He stormed out the door.
Why can't I be happy too?
