The woman looks down at me, fury in her eyes. "Mother please I didn't know we had dinner with them..." Arlo mumbles. She growls at him, sending a shiver down his spine. "Well you would if you were home more often! Instead of playing little games with your stupid friends."
"Mum he's only young you can find him a different suitor" i hear my sister Violet yell coming down from the stairs with her maid trying to finish with her hair. My sister is to be married soon, mother found most of my siblings someone to marry and got our family a bunch of money. I was supposed to be the only expectation, but Olive had moved in with dad who is a lot better then mum.
"Shut up you disappointment. That family was so important to us!"
"Who were they?" I ask trying to sift mums yelling back at me.
"A girl from your school I think. Elaine." Elaine no way, she's one of my best friends I've never seen her romantically. Mum gets a call and looks at me. "stay here I'll be back." she says and walks into her office. Violet look down at me and sighs. She bends down and puts her forehead against mine and smiles. "just try and listen to her. Ares will talk to her" Ares is the only child that mum likes. "she'll let you go soon. Also I don't know if you know this but mum is going on vacation soon so you can have a break from her."
"whens she leaving?" i ask
"tomorrow" she smiles. i nod ans she gets up "see you later Arlo" she walks back up the stairs chating wit her maid. "alright Arlo no dinner and i don't want to see you until I come back from my trip ok?" i nod. "alright go to your room." she waves her hand in the direction of my room and walks back into her office, letting Buster out. he comes running over to me and licks my face, whining. "im ok boy im fine" i reassure him and get up. i pat my hip to signal him to follow me. I
walk up the stairs and into my room. My room massive with cream white walls and a white bed in the middle. A grand piano in one the left side of the room and some paintings are on the walls. I curl up in my bed with my stomach hurting from hunger. as im drifting off to sleep I hear a bing on my phone.
