'I will remember and recover, not forgive and forget.'  -?

_________

A soldier named Boggs shows Marina, my father, my uncle, and myself to a private room. They even allow Finnick, just in case I go into another episode.

"We were going to tell you soon." Her father told her. I nodded. I wasn't mad at them. "Finnick was right to tell you."

"I don't think I would've taken it well. I barely had any grasp on reality. I'm better now, really." Was I still afraid of the doctor that resembled Thist? Yes. Every time I saw him in the hospital wing, I couldn't help but tremble. I knew I would never forget what happened to me. Just like my games, it would haunt me forever. But there was a rebellion happening; I had to fight.

They sit us down, and my fingers tap nervously on the table.

"We haven't seen her either. They've kept us away. I just don't understand. How is she alive?" Marina asked.

"There's something I've kept secret from you both." My dad says before they bring our mother in. Marina and I immediately jump to the worst conclusion.

"You knew she was alive?" Marina asks.

"No! No. When I left here, to all of my knowledge, she was dead. I shouldn't have left...but they were coming after us, and I was carrying Marina, and holding onto your hand as tight as possible so I wouldn't lose you while we were running." I can tell my father is being genuine; he has tears in his eyes, and I remember being four years old, and hearing my father sob at night. It wasn't a sound I could forget.

"I should've done more. If I knew she was alive, I never would have left." He says, taking off his glasses to wipe his tears.

I close my eyes, and grip Finnick's hand tightly.

"Is this real? Or is it just me imagining things?" I ask. I didn't like to talk about it, but there had been things I thought I saw, when in reality, it never happened. Once, I thought Thist was choking me. I was sure I looked insane. Finnick held me tightly and assured me that it wasn't real.

"It's real, baby. Your mother is alive."

"Mr. Underfell, what was - is your wife's name?" Finnick asked. As Orian was about to answer, the door opened, and a woman with grey hair, and grey, emotionless eyes walked in.

"Alma..." My father whispers. My eyes widened. As she had 'died' when I was four, I only had vague memories of her. I relied on pictures, mostly. She rushes over, bending down so she can hug him tightly. Marina and I look at each other, unsure.
