•Stephen's POV•
Almost without thinking, I grabbed Loki's head and turned it towards mine.
I felt, almost an urge, to pull the mask off his face and kiss him.
But I stopped myself.

I starred into Loki's eyes as he looked back at me, terrified.
"Calm down." I said deeply. "I don't want to loose you over an anxiety attack."
Loki looked into my eyes, and shakily sighed. He leaned back into his pillow, closing his eyes, and letting out a long breath.
I grabbed Loki's hand and held it with both of mine. He was cold and frail, his hand felt delicate.

And then my eyes widened as the thought dawned on me.

Shit.

I'm in love with Loki.

He caught me amid my thoughts.
"Strange," He said weakly, his eyes barely open. "What happened?"

"Huh what?" I asked, still half-daydreaming. "What happened when? Where?"

"What hurt me? Like, what burned half my face off?"

"Oh! Tony Stark." I answered quickly.

Loki paused for a second, then lightly said, "okay,"

Around three hours later, I was told that as soon as Loki's wound was healed, he'd be transferred to Shield.

I walked back to Loki's room, an ointment in my hand for his burns, and a pain-killer in my other. He had been snoozing again, and I felt almost bad to wake him up.

But I had to. I put the items down on a table right next to a glass of water which had already been there.
I tapped on his shoulder and his eye drearily opened. He lightly mumbled something inaudible, and I moved my hand down his arm and into his.

He sat up and rubbed his eye with his other hand.
"Hey Loki," I said softly. "I have to put this ointment on your face, okay?"

He tiredly nodded.

Loki had a goz pad over half his face, and I lightly lifted the medical tape off his forehead. It was harder to not pull off his breathing mask, and I was terrified of it falling off or something and Loki not being able to breath.
I pulled the pad off and felt myself grimace.

There was a dark burn covering mostly the entire half his face, the side of his mouth had been ripped open, and around his eye was the worst. It just looked like a large hole where his eye was supposed to be. His eyelids and eyebrow had been burned off, and all his skin around his eye was charred.

I felt terrible. It was pretty disgusting to look at.

I put the ointment on a Cotten pad and said, "this is gonna burn, okay?"

"Okay," Loki said. I patted the pad on his face, and Loki sharply inhaled.
As I was applying it, I saw Loki's fists and teeth clench, and he tightly closed his eye.

"Okay I'm done," I said calmly.
Loki let out a heavy breath of air and laid back into his pillow.
I had to keep the goz pad off of him for now to let the wound breath, but Loki had to have an eye pad over the hole in his face so nothing got in it.

He was staring at me with a tired smile, and I couldn't help but smile back.
Loki can be so adorable sometimes

But I felt my smile fade as I thought of what I had to tell him.

I rubbed the back of my neck as I saw his smile droop to a worried look.

"What is it?" He asked.

"Well, you're gonna have to go to Shield once your eye is healed."
